Important information:

You are advised to bring your own vehicle as the property is not serviced by public transport.

In order to reach the property you should follow the SS36 direction Lecco. Take the first exit for Abbadia Lariana and follow the street beside the lake. When reaching Varenna, turn left for Varenna center and through the village. At the bridge, turn right for Esino Lario and after some curves again turn right for Vezio/Vezio Castle. Follow the directions for the castle and the restaurant Il Portichetto.

A surcharge of 25€ applies for arrivals after check-in hours (10 PM). For arrival after midnight will be applied a surcharge of 50€. Surcharges will be applied for room booked. All requests for late arrival are subject to confirmation by the property.

Unheated pool. Jacuzzi open from May 1st to October 15th.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Best spot to relax and enjoy near Varenna!

Home Away From Home - Not For Mobility Challenged
Pros:

Thank you so much to Rita & the staff - they truly made this place feel like home for my family and 15 month-old baby. Every morning we were greeted with fresh cappuccinos, homemade croissants & other breakfast goodies. They had a spot set up for my son every morning to eat, and graciously cleaned up our bibs, plates, etc. that we brought every time. Rita also helped with logistics and giving us recommendations on what to do.

The actual apartment was very nice & had everything we wanted! The view is outstanding & it's on the route of the Wayfarers path.

Note: This hotel is above the Varenna city in a town called Perledo. To get up here, it's a 15 minute walk (at a brisk pace) and 500 feet of elevation gain. It's essentially at the top of the hike to the castle. We are in good shape so we thought it would be no big deal, but found we really only had the energy to do this once or maybe twice per day. The night bus was easy to catch but only leaves once it's full, so it wasn't as good of a solution as I thought it would be.

I thought the restaurant on property was just ok. My husband liked it & others staying on property did as well. The restaurant staff was sweet as can be. There is literally nothing else around in Perledo except for this amazing restaurant that's new called La Serra Bistrot ($$$) in walking distance.

Great value for money if able to navigate steep hills
Pros:

We very much enjoyed our stay here. From the very first moment we arrived at the train station, Rita (the owner) was there to pick us up and take us up the hill to the hotel, ensuring we didn't have to struggle up the hill with our bags.
Once we arrived, Rita was very helpful in explaining how everything worked, things we needed to know and even arranged a taxi for us for after we checked out.
The room was very spacious and had everything you'd need in it. With the amount of space available, it would have been nice to have a small table with a couple of chairs or something, but not the end of the world - there was just a lot of extra space.
The hotel was not too far away from Varenna village and the lake. From the hotel, it is a 10 minute walk down a very steep hill. Going down was fine, just a little tough on the knees. Going back up the hill afterwards was much harder though. I'd recommend thinking twice about this if mobility is an issue. There is an option to catch a free mini bus back up the hill (from the train station) in the evenings though. This mini bus was easy to understand and was reliable for the couple of times we used it.
The hotel is located in a small village up in the mountains called Vezio. This is a very nice little place which is very quiet, and we did not hear any noises or have any disturbances while we were staying here. Just be aware there is also not much to do up here other than visit the castle and the restaurant which is basically next to the hotel.
Breakfast was pretty good considering it was included in the price. It was mostly continental with a couple of cooked extras. It was enough for us and certainly fuelled us for our travels.
The hotel is also home to Rita's dog, Pippo. He is a good boy and very friendly to all guests.
Rita made herself available via whatsapp for anything we needed during our stay, and other staff members were great too.

Cons:

Walls of the rooms were very thin, so you could hear conversations, toilets flushing etc. in the neighbouring rooms. This didn't take too much away from our experience, and appreciate the rooms were still great value for money, but maybe bring some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Pros:

Emplacement en retrait, accessible le soir par navette entre 19h et 23h gratuitement. Piscine et terrasse entouré d'oliviers, nous avons aimé être au coeur du village et nous promener dans ses petites rues étroites. Nous avons été bien servi et avons eu de très bons petits déjeuner. La vue est magnifique! Nous avons profiter matin et soir de la piscine!

Very comfortable and relaxing stay.
Pros:

Excellent service by Rita & Roxanna. Rita is very quick and responsive to questions or issues raised. Clean comfortable bed sheets and pillows in cosy room. Nice warm showers. Very relaxing and peaceful stay especially by the swimming pool. Good breakfast with nice views. A short drive to town and ferry terminal.

Soggiorno piacevole, abbiamo apprezzato molto l'accoglienza
Pros:

Accoglienza molto calorosa e molto dettagliata sulle attrazioni della zona.
Colazione completa e molto buona, servizio molto cordiale e presente.
Nel periodo del nostro soggiorno servizio navetta che ti portava all'hotel dalla stazione centrale.

Cons:

La passeggiata per arrivare al centro città non è accessibile a tutti.
Molto ripida e poco sterrata, da fare assolutamente con scarpe da trekking.
