From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted.
Heritage Charges (Caj Warisan) will be changed RM10 per room, per day starting 1st January 2025.
For Prestigious Events, a charge of RM20 per room, per night will apply during Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace (LIMA), Le Tour De Langkawi, Ironman, and Oceanman Malaysia

Location
The check in process and the time it took to allocate the apartment, over an hour to check in. The room wasnt ready, even though the property had enquired about my arrival time a day before my arrival. The apartment allocated vs what was shown during booking was slightly different.
Bathroom fitting (faucet) in the 2nd bathroom was lose and the basin had water clogging issue.
One of the light in the master bedroom and the strip light of the kitchen island was faulty.
The views from the room was good, there is a nice beach nearby.
Disruptive Construction: There was loud drilling and construction work that lasted an entire day. I contacted management multiple times to address this, but the disturbance never stopped.
Unacceptable Restaurant Service: While my wife and I were at the breakfast buffet, we stepped away from our table to get more food. When we returned, staff had given our table to other guests. When I asked for an explanation, the staff member rudely stated that we were only two people sitting at a four-person table. When we initially sat down, the restaurant was largely empty, and no one told us we couldn't sit there. Furthermore, I noticed several other parties of two being accommodated at four-person tables without issue. This was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful behavior.
Hygiene Issues: The drinking glasses provided at the buffet were not properly cleaned.
This highlights the repetitive nature of the issue and the gross lack of basic hygiene and hospitality standards from Riyaz Lavanya Langkawi
## 1 Star – Repetitive Electrical Failures, Filthy Service, and Zero Accountability
I just checked out after a miserable 2-night stay at Riyaaz Lavanya, and I strongly advise anyone looking for a peaceful stay to book elsewhere.
Our entire trip was ruined by a recurring short circuit issue that happened **both nights** of our stay, coupled with completely unacceptable staff behavior which took no accountability to say sorry for causing such inconvenience to me and my family:
* **Night 1:** The short circuit blew at 5:00 AM with sudden smoke appearing in my bedroom . A technician didn't bother showing up until 7:30 AM.
* **Night 2 & Morning of Checkout:** The exact same short circuit happened again. Once again, the technician came in at 7:00 AM and was trapped in our room repairing it until 10:00 AM.
Because the staff member was occupying the space for three straight hours on our day of checkout, we couldn't even use our own toilet and ended up incredibly late for breakfast. To top off the absolute lack of hygiene, **they left the bathroom completely filthy and uncleaned after the repairs were done.** We were left with a broken, dirty room that felt like a construction zone.
When we brought this to the front desk, the staff completely refused to acknowledge our complaint or take any responsibility. Paying to be woken up by electrical failures, losing access to our bathroom, having it left dirty by staff, and then being dismissed by management is completely unacceptable. The room cleaning team did not clean the bathroom well and thy didn't replenish the bath amenities for both bathrooms. Overall my stay here was very unpleasant.
It’s stated 5 stars hotel. However, It didn’t have a luxury lifestyle hotel.

Even though it’s a newer building, I believe? It looks run down! The carpets were stained, the wood flooring in the room scratched, the bathrooms had black spots (hopefully not mold) and the sheets had a mildew smell to them.

Everything - the friendliest and flexibility of reception staff allowing us to postpone and we couldn’t fly because of the war, the staff without exception - cleaning, restaurant, management (Asst. Manager in restaurant at breakfast at top of his game), Ramesh both worked in restaurant in morning and Thai restaurant at night really friendly and helpful but all staff are hard working and a credit to the hotel. The Thai restaurant with Sous Chef Niran Som Boon - wow you must go here- we returned we were so impressed with his food. Really talented and he and his staff are the best. The roof top swimming pool and bar was a hit too especially at dusk watching the sunset. Thank you to housekeeping staff who left us a lovely message for our anniversary and fruit, lovely gesture. Needless to say we hope to return before too long!
Nothing really. A very small point - nothing to do with the hotel but there was building work being done next to us however it wasn’t loud and interesting to watch how fast they complete viewed from our lovely room with south facing large balcony.
The uninterrupted view of the sunset and the sea was worth it. Nearby to the main attraction area which is pantai cenang. The walk-in Bathroom was spacious and the elevated bath tub area was nice touch.
Tv program system which was using a third party streaming platform was a hassle to use. Didn’t expect from a luxury hotel. The room was spacious but lacked of aura too much of unused space and lacked of welcoming feel for me personally and the switch for the lights was game of guessing.
