Royal Mist Munnar is tucked about 500m inside a tea plantation, offering a peaceful and homely retreat. We arrived by tuk-tuk at the junction, where Anil, the owner, kindly picked us up in his jeep to reach the property. The place is fairly new, very well maintained, and warmly hosted by Anil, his wife Jeeva, and their helper, Ruki.

Our room was spacious with a lovely view of the tea plantation. The bathroom was also large and equipped with hot water. Anil gave us helpful advice about tours and can connect you with drivers or guides (though you negotiate prices directly).

When I wasn’t feeling well the next day, Jeeva went out of her way to prepare ginger water for my journey. She’s also an excellent cook — we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the property, and every meal was fresh, homely, and delicious. I especially appreciated their thoughtful no-waste approach to food.

Throughout our stay, Anil and Jeeva checked in on me regularly to make sure I was feeling better. Ruki did the same each time she served meals. On the day of checkout (a Sunday), they even cancelled their own plans just so I wouldn’t be left alone.

The hotel is located slightly outside of Munnar, which makes it wonderfully peaceful if you prefer some quiet. There’s also a spacious balcony outside the room where you can enjoy meals, admire the views, or simply relax.

A small note for travelers: if you’re visiting during festival season, be prepared for traffic on the way into Munnar.

Overall, Royal Mist offers more than just a stay — it feels like being welcomed into a family home, surrounded by nature. Highly recommended!

Everything is new. The position is right in the centre of a tea plantation. We were delighted to see the tea picking ladies start work one morning right below our balcony & spread out cutting the bushes all around us. What photo opportunities!!
The meals are delicious, plentiful, cheap & made to order. I would always stay in this beautiful home if ever lucky enough to come back to the area

Anil and Jeeva, the owners, are extremely friendly, helpful and caring. The breakfast and dinner were both delicious, we chose to have dinner at the homestay everyday and didn’t wish for anything else! We stayed at their new property which is very peaceful, modern and clean, with great views of tea plantations and down the valley. There’s a great view of sunset a short walk away through the tea plantations, which was amazing. Our stay was during New Years Eve and we had incredible views of the celebrations through the valley from the rooftop, and Anil and Jeeva also had some sparklers for us😊 they are so keen to help with anything you need and we would recommend their place to anyone!

The property is situated close to tea plantations and watching and listening to the workers as they arrived and left for the day was wonderful. The hosts are exceptional and did whatever they could to make my stay as relaxing as possible, offering up ideas and options of how to fill my time. The rooms are clean and modern with a large balcony where the tasty meals are served to the guests.

Anil and Jeeva were wonderful friendly hosts. They arranged everything we needed including a fabulous driver (Sebastian) who took us from Fort Kochi up the mountain and shows us very interesting sights on the way.

We had an incredible stay at Royal Mist! The hospitality from the hosts, Anil and Jeeva, was truly outstanding, making us feel not just guests, but like part of their extended family. The peaceful location, a mere 25 mins away from Munnar, offered a serene escape while still being within walking distance to market and restaurants. The homemade meals were extraordinary – undoubtedly the best food we had during our entire Kerala trip. What truly set Royal Mist apart were the thoughtful touches in the rooms with every detail carefully considered, elevating our overall experience compared to other homestays. If you're seeking a perfect blend of tranquility, delectable cuisine, and warm hospitality, Royal Mist Munnar is the place to be.

We have spent two weeks in Tamil nadhu and kerala and the stay with Anil and Jeeva was a particular highlight. The warmth and kindness and hospitality was exceptional- a very genuine and a truly authentic and special Homestay
They took us on a walk around the tea plantation behind the property when we arrived and we particularly enjoyed Jeevas cookery demonstration
The guest accomodation is private and the private seating dining area is ample to relax and sit out and enjoy your meals - bought to you by the properties staff
