It was the location was amazing right in the heart of such a vibrant area of the city with many cafés and supermarkets open either all night or very late. Comfortable bed, excellent AC. Loved that they kept the supply closets open so that we could get more coffee or towels whenever we needed. And the manager was incredibly responsive to our questions and text messages on WhatsApp. Finally, the design was beautiful and modern, and the water pressure in the shower was very strong and consistent.
We suggest adding some towel racks or hooks in the bathroom.

Really good bedroom.
It’s not a Hotel as such. They advertise it as a hotel. Normally when I book a Hotel I expect a hotel receptionist to check me in. This is different. You will get instructions to get a key card and work away on your own then. It’s fine for me. I can do that no problem. But if people like my parents arrived expecting to check in to a Hotel normally as they always did then it’s complicated for them. It’s ok. Personally I would stay there again. But there is a bit of false advertising saying ‘Hotel Wilson’. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but when I see Hotel, I expect a normal Hotel. Not a bunch of nice rooms in a section of an apartment block which were fine by the way.
First impressions of The Wilson were from outside and it was a bit worrying. The building looks like it needs a good amount of patching up, however any worries we had were soon dismissed when we got into the rooms. The rooms are nice and big, light and airy. They were very clean, and the bathroom/shower etc were all fully functional. The view out of the windows is a bit cack, so just keep the curtains drawn. Aircon is really powerful.
The check-in process came over whatsapp and seemed a bit long-winded but it wasn't difficult to follow, and then after just 10 mins of us arriving, Nick came to reception and helped us out. He had all sorts of great advice on where to eat, which sites to visit and at what times etc. His help was invaluable.
We had 3 of the 4 rooms, and there was an issue with the drains in one of the rooms. I highlighted this over Whatsapp and the problem was identified and sorted really quickly.
The location of the The Wilson is in Blloku, and is surrounded by nice restaurants and bars, and leafy tree-lined avenues. It is a nice place to be. It is also only about a 15 min walk to Skanderbeg Square, and 10 mins to The Pyramid.
If you use Blue Taxi company, we got from the airport to The Wilson for about 1700 Leke per cab, and then return to the airport was about 1300 Leke, as they don't have to pay to park/wait. This was another of Nick's recommendations, and all worked out well.
Thank you to The Wilson for helping us with our first stay in Tirana. Well done, and the speed of response over whatsapp made us feel looked after.

In the heart of Tirana. The host was exceptionally welcoming and helpful with recommendations. The rooms were modern and nicely decorated.
Everything was amazing! Thought some guests might find windows facing into the street and other people houses bit uncomfortable
