It was nothing like the picture it was a workman's donger sent a pic of view from room
It’s a very well maintained hotel as old as it is it’s got 2x well seated bar areas with room to move around to the restaurant to the big sunny beer garden with a jumping castle and a huge sand pit that the kids loved it’s a pleasant place to remember cause the food topped it of for the attention to detail of the fresh produce
A Well maintained a beautifully restored peace of history it was worth the stay there

The airconditing didn't turn off!
We did not get a room but where put up in a donga. Very small not even a chair inside. Could only boil the kettle in the community kitchen down the back. Stairs up to the donga had no hand rails so very unsafe especially for seniors. TV did not work when we arrived, staff did attempt to remedy on the first day where supposed to come back on the second day but did not even after contacting them about the tv again.
The Hotel was under retauration in some parts but i got a complete new room and it was nice was a little bit small.

The heritage building
Under renovation, someone was hammering the wall at 0730. Was woken up and unable to sleep
The pub is awesome as a pub
The Accommodation side was The noise level from inside the room was so loud that I couldn’t sleep until pub closed past well past 1pm. The snoring noise level from opposite room was not good.
The staff were friendly, polite and did their best to assist us during our stay. The renovations currently underway look like they will greatly improve the property, and I have no doubt it will be a fantastic hotel once completed.
We booked a Queen Room with a Private Bathroom at The Federal Hotel expecting to stay in the hotel. On arrival, we were told the hotel is being renovated and were placed in a donga around the back instead.
This was not disclosed when booking. Had we known we would be staying in temporary accommodation down a side alley, surrounded by rubbish and boxes, we would have chosen another property.
Renovations are understandable, but guests should be clearly informed if they won’t actually be staying in the hotel they booked. Very disappointing and misleading.
