Green, remote, simple living
Pros:

My partner and I loved staying here! It’s in a beautiful little town, perfect little getaway and not far from Jakarta. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking over the fields, walking to the stunning waterfall and hanging out with the children on the football pitch on the weekend. It’s a wonderful spot to watch the day go by and not be in a rush. We managed to find a driver in Bogor to take us there and on our return we took the angkot (local bus) which cost us roughly 70rp. The hosts were very friendly and you can easily ask them for anything you need.

Cons:

For us we couldn’t really afford to buy meals at the homestay as we were at the end of our 6 month trip. However that was fine because we could just eat in town and also cook our own indomie easily.

Pros:

Owner is fantastic and the place is as advertised, which is quite basic but that's what I expected. They organised an excursion for me and we're very accommodating, polite, reasonable when changes needed to be made.

Cons:

The road to get there is beyond bad, and to get from there to anywhere else is extremely difficult

Superb
Pros:

The room that I was offered has absolutely beautiful scenic views. The bed is nice and spacious. It was a nice experience waking up to terraced rice fields and smelling the fresh air of nature. The hostel owner was really friendly and helpful. They also offered trekking tour package to volcano nearby and pick-up transport, which surely enrich the experience of homestay.

Cons:

Just a reminder that no wifi is available there, and the bath is a traditional one with cold water. Personally I dont mind the arrangement which puts me more in touch with nature.

Pros:

The location is near to the hot spring water, by walking distance only.
The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Ibu's bakwan and pisang goreng are the best.

Cons:

Not easy to find, kind of scary to drive and park with the car. In the rainy season can be very slippery.
Rooms are very basic, kitchen is not properly clean.
Local guests mostly are very noisy until late midnight.

If you want to be part of life again, this is where you're supposed to be.
Pros:

I liked being part of the indonesian culture, surroundings and facilities. There is a normal toilet, that dissapointed me. I wanted the 'hole in the ground'. The food was questioned if you wanted any. Payed by the dish, no problem. The staff is very helpful in all sorts of way. The owner speaks Dutch which can come very handy.

I liked being there. A lot.

Pros:

The location is phenomenal, right on Mount Salak, only a 1.5/2 hour journey from Bogor. Facilities were very clean and views were amazing. The host Rachman (absolute G), his lovely wife and sons are extremely welcoming, generous and fun; they really know how to make their guests feel at home and provided us with lots of activities to do in the surrounding area such as the Hot Springs, waterfalls, fishing, cooking, and hikes up the mountain (guided by Rachman’s sons).
