Pemba's residence

Unfortunately, we were not completely satisfied with our stay. The guest house did not feel as clean as we expected. There was no fresh, clean smell, and it did not seem as though the room had been properly cleaned before our arrival.
The blanket had a strong smell, almost like sweaty feet, so we had to ask for different bedding. We also changed the bedding ourselves because it looked as though the bed had not been properly made or the bedding had not been changed.
The mirror also looked like it had not been cleaned properly, and the tiles were not clean or shiny. The bathroom tiles also looked as though they had not been wiped down properly. The kitchen was not as clean as we would have expected either.
Overall, the cleanliness was disappointing and could definitely be improved. We hope the owners will take this feedback seriously, as proper cleaning and fresh bedding are very important for guests and would make a big difference to the experience.

We didn’t expect to share the house with others - perhaps we missed that info before booking.
The communal living was not what we expected.

Pemba should be better assisted into some skills such as general upkeep (lawn cut, weeds etc), power points at convenient locations such as next to bed, maybe a water in the fridge. Just little things, but if done could easily warrant her charging an extra R100 or R150 per night. Maybe give guests their own remotes o come & go rather than waiting up late and getting up early for them. Not to criticise, but genuinely her venue has potential way ahead of what she currently is achieving.

Didn't like the slow wifi

It would be nice to have a remote to enter and exit the property while staying there, BUT it was super easy to get in and out; the wonderful lady was always available to open for us.
