Sure, not everything is perfect, but seriously, stop complaining. In much less beautiful cities, you’d pay a fortune for the worst hotel in such a central location. For this price, there’s really no room to complain. If you want luxury, you’ll need to pay more and book a luxury hotel. Here, you’re right in the heart of the action with great connections everywhere. Istanbul is the most beautiful city in the world, and you won’t find this kind of value for money anywhere else. In places like London or New York, you’d pay a fortune for filthy, rundown rooms, yet you’re complaining about a centrally located hotel here that’s far from bad.
The staff was amazing, they went our of their way accommodating me and also helping me with airport transportation, despite the language barrier. The location was very ideal for people who wants to experience the real Istanbul. It's very busy and very close to busses and ferry.
The location is great. Tons of restaurants and bars nearby, and the port of Besiktas is at 5 minute walk. Despite the gate of the hotel being always open, I felt very safe (receptionist 24h and security cameras in hallways).
I got a room on the 3rd floor and facing the courtyard, so it was very silent despite the location. It is tiny, but great for one person and definitely doable for a couple as well. Ask for room 303!
Water pressure was amazing and the place was "OK clean", meaning it didn't look thoroughly cleaned but good enough. Some water was provided and there is a mini fridge. Check in and out was very smooth.
The air conditioning was quite noisy, as it makes loud vibration noises every couple of minutes. It was a pity, because as I said the room was very silent otherwise. But in practice it made it impossible for me to sleep with A/C on, despite the earplugs.
There are so many good things to he recognised.
First and foremost the neighborhood. Its a very friendly, lively, and awesome setting. There are some good quality restaurants, bars, and caffes that never sleep. People are generally kind and it's extremely safe. It's also close to all transportation, ferry included.
2- the room we initially chose was small for our taste. The staff were nice and friendly abd they suggested a different room with a balcony and we paid the difference.
3_ The room with balcony is good, it has natural beautiful lighting, and the breakfast experience in the balcony was nice.
Overall, it was a great choice and we had a wonderful stay.
1_ no elevators. It's fine for us as it's part of the old architecture.
Just keep it in mind if you have a health condition or small children.
2- the room was not cleaned for the entire stay, 8 days. However, we did have fresh towels every two days, soap, toilet paper, and water.
