Comfortable bed , warm lodge ,friendly staff, good breakfast.
Moth ball smell disgusting mildew
That it had a home vibe and beautifully decorated in the common area. The views from the hotel was aesthetically pleasing and picturesque
That we didn’t have our own toilet or bathroom
What a fantastic place! The owners are genuinely some of the kindest people that I have met and were gracious in every part of the stay. The place itself was fantastic, good sized room, a private on site onsen (that was almost always free), fantastic breakfast and just such a good spot. Could not recommend more.
There is a bus stop right outside the property (like literally called the Hotel Windsor stop) to go to the mountains (which is great). But it is 1000 Yen each way even just to Akakura Kanko/Onsen (but also straight to Suginohara) and the walk to Akakura was a bit more on the roads than on paths. Not a big deal at all, just something to be wary of when booking.
Wonderful staff and a lovely stay all round..excellent and varied breakfast buffet, and very homely feel. Well located and good value, would absolutely stay again.
This seems to be common in many establishments, however they use a chemical burner to heat the drying room. Some how the fumes get up the stairs case and we had to open the window in the bedroom to keep the air fresh.. with the heating we were perfectly warm, although would be nice to have a safer heating system in place.

Breakfast was cold and average quality. Sometimes not enough.
Good location to get started each day
Cleanliness was bad. Lots of dust under the beds, hallways and communal areas need a good clean.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. That is their strong point and I appreciated it. Transport to local areas was available at a small charge, Hotel had a bus stop outside. Within easy walking distance to Akakura Kanko ski area, and a rather further walk to local bars and shop and post office. Lovely views.
The hotel is run by Taiwanese and so does not give a full Japanese experience. Breakfasts were very below standard for the price charged for the stay. Room was nice but did not have an easy chair, telephone, bedside light or mini-fridge, which was astounding considering the price of the room. The hotel is open only for the skiing season, which does not give the management the opportunity to realise its full potential. This is a shame as it could have been excellent.
Great location, good facilities and had transport service at cheap cost
Lovely staff and faculties. Location is prime for Akakura Kanko resort and the spacious drying room made it an enjoyable stay.
The staff were amazing specifically Jhaiyi. Very attentive with nothing being too hard for him.
The common areas are very homely and welcoming but dated. Do require an update with removal of unnecessary clutter. Quite noisy possibly associated with the heating system?

Great value, staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Highly recommend.
Cannot fault a thing.
Staff were super friendly and helpful
Facility itself was old but we could see clear signs that they were trying to improve it.
