Nice property, helpful staff.

Very friendly staff and overall good facilities although some areas are rather tired and could be improved. Our room was well presented and comfortable although the lock on the door was frustratingly fiddly to operate (even the staff commented on this). We will definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay at Stoke Lodge hotel - our room was perfect and very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and they went above and beyond, even leaving a card and towel sculpture in the shape of a wedding cake in our room to congratulate us on our wedding anniversary! We enjoyed spending time in the bar which was beautifully decorated and had a great atmosphere and loved using the pool facilities, especially the outdoor pool! Thank you so much!

Lovely setting for a hotel break. Close to Dartmouth.
Hotel could do with a bit of updating in places but was clean.
Food was lovely. We had an evening meal. It was delicious. Breakfast excellent. Great choice and freshly cooked.
Beds comfortable. Our room had no view and was above the kitchens. We had to keep the window closed because of the cooking smells. Our friend’s room had a fan but ours didn’t. Was quite warm.
My only little gripe would be that dogs are allowed. I love dogs but think they should only be allowed in certain rooms. My husband has an allergy to cat and dog hair and he was slightly affected.
Overall we had a lovely couple days and would return but request a different room.

We had a wonderful stay at Stoke Lodge, having visited on and off over a long period of time, the new owners have made a comfy, friendly and relaxing hotel. The food was delicious and they happily adapted to special dietary requirements.
We can't wait to visit again.

It was only a short break but we found the staff very friendly and nothing was to much trouble and the owners Alex and Myles were also very pleasant and also nothing was to much trouble the food was exceptional that the chef prepared would definitely return

The owners were very friendly. Room has been recently renovated to a high spec. Didn’t eat there so cannot comment on the food. Overall very good stay.

Hotel was lovely, had everything we liked. Lovely outside area, pool and we even enjoyed the pool table. The food was fantastic 5 star and really made our stay. Would definitely go back again. Only one thing that could possibly make stay even better is a little fan in the rooms when it’s super hot, especially on ground floor.

Fabulous stay at Stoke Lodge Hotel for a short 5 day break. The location is idyllic and the hotel is slowing being renovated by the current owners. All staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

We were having a wonderful time . On arrival we were told our booking had been amended to include breakfast which was a lovely surprise/ gesture. Spa was great. Room clean & comfortable . All going well !
Then during the second night I was taken ill , husband had to take me to hospital , then drive back to check out . This was when he was charged for the breakfasts which we’d been told were complimentary. Obviously hubby not too thrilled but didn’t want to make a fuss as there were other guests around and he was in a hurry to get back to hospital which was some distance away.
Real Shame. Don’t promise something then not deliver - better to have not promised in the first place . We didn’t book breakfasts so we wouldn’t have been disappointed had they not “upgraded our booking . But to then be charged was very disappointing. Such a shame because otherwise it was a lovely stay. Was going to book again and recommend to friends and family but probably won’t do now. The breakfast issue has left a bitter taste sadly.

We only stayed two nights, but everything was really good. Very friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable. Didn't get round to using the indoor pool, but, took a look and it was lovely. A central hotel to what we wanted to see, great coastal walks too. Wish we'd stayed longer.

The owners are gradually updating the property, which when finished will be a tranquil haven. The staff are excellent, friendly and a real asset to the hotel. Great location for trips into Dartmouth and Salcombe.

Our room was lovely, one of the best beds we have had in a hotel for a while. The staff looked after us very well. It feels like a lot of love went into everything. And we really enjoyed our stay.
