Everything was perfect staff were very nice and helpful. Bedroom was perfect and the view is phenomenal.
The price was very high especially for one night. Understandably though the location is very scenic.
A fabulous overall experience that I would recommend.
The seaweed bath on the terrace overlooking the water was a particular highlight and well worth booking. The food was excellent throughout, with the Guinness bread being so good that we're still talking about it.
If formal dining isn't your preference every evening, venture into the village of Ardmore and book a table at Whitehorses. It was truly exceptional and very much deserves a mention as part of the overall experience of staying at Cliff House and visiting Ardmore.
One area where the hotel could be enhanced is the provision of comfortable spaces to relax outside the bedrooms. There is a distinct lack of inviting lounge areas with softer seating. Whilst there is a lounge on the top floor, it feels somewhat overlooked and rather clinical, disconnected from the atmosphere and life of the hotel.
Similarly, the space adjacent to the formal restaurant appears intended as a lounge, but the seating is far from relaxing. It feels like a missed opportunity, as this area could be transformed into a beautifully designed, integrated lounge where guests would naturally gravitate before dinner, after a walk, or simply to unwind with a drink.
This is an opportunity for Cliff House to take inspiration from hotels such as The Europe in Killarney, where the public spaces are every bit as welcoming and memorable as the bedrooms themselves. Whilst Cliff House remains a beautiful property in an exceptional setting, some of the interior finishes are beginning to feel a little dated. A thoughtful refresh, combined with more inviting communal spaces, would further elevate what is already a very special destination.

Attention to details, very efficient, warm, approachable, excellent service, a place for true relaxation with the magnificent sea view, bright and welcoming interior, and unusual spa facilities
The staff were very helpful
What a memorable stay. Stunning location and such a gorgeous hotel. Loved the dinner at the Michelin star restaurant and the spa facilities. Lovely weather meant enjoying breakfast outside with a sea view. Can't wait to go back 🧡
Wonderful location and wonderful staff and food.
Location, the James Bond (Roger Moore era) vibe, the pool and spa and ocean swimming spot. Also great staff all round.
I booked the hotel for the Michelin star restaurant for my partner’s 60th only to find the restaurant closed two days a week. The “casual” dining was very good. Breakfast a bit lack lustre: generous but hard eggs….
