Pros:

Had a lovely time at White Villa, the accommodation is just a 5 min walk away from Uppuveli beach. A lot of good restaurants in the area. And possibility of doing snorkelling, whale & dolphin watching. The host was very friendly, a very good English speaker. Also he arranged everything for us, even transportation to our next destination.

Pros:

clean, comfortable, and the manager was SO helpful. He organised a 4am tuk tuk for us, and called a bus company to ensure we’d get seats the next day. Thanks for the stay!

Die Lage.

Cons:

Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer lies zu wünschen übrig. Nach dem Duschen war das kleine Bad komplett nass, sodass man nicht trocken ans Waschbecken bzw. zur Toilette kommt. Die sogenannte Gemeinschaftsküche sah schlimm aus. Der Tisch davor war ungemütlich. Das Ambiente insgesamt hat uns nicht gefallen. Wir haben uns am nächsten Tag ein anderes Quartier gesucht.

Me espantó
Pros:

Lo bueno es que está cerca de la playa y tiene aire acondicionado.

Cons:

Instalaciones bastante sucias: paredes super sucias, las sábanas aunque parecían lavadas tenían manchas, el suelo parecía que no estaba fregado, muchísimo polvo en las mesillas y los interuptores...
De primera impresión me quise ir a otro sitio, pero al final por el precio tampoco encontrábamos nada mucho mejor.
Básico para dormir y no ser demasiado escrupuloso.
Cuando llegue me dieron una habitación que era diferente a la que yo había pagado, pero es verdad que cuando se lo dije al chico que atendía en el alojamiento nos cambió a otra habitación.
No entiendo las buenas opiniones que tiene, la verdad.

Great stay
Pros:

The hotel is nearby beach(5 mins walk) and there are many cafes and restaurants around.
The host is very responsive and helped with whatever we needed. They were also considerate enough to allow us for a late check-out(7 hours approx.). Definitely value for money.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir haben gute Tipps bekommen für Unternehmungen. Ebenfalls haben Sie uns geholfen den richtigen Bus für die weiterfahrt zu finden. (Im Internet gab es diese Verbindung nicht.)

Good value-for-money, comfy bed.
Pros:

Friendly and responsive staff, relatively close to the beach and all the restaurants (8 min walk). Nice room and decent bathroom.

Cons:

I've left the same comment for all guest houses in Sri Lanka: the windows need a screen or netting over them so they can be opened for extended periods of time to let fresh air in. This would be a huge improvement and do a lot for comfort.

The wifi wasn't great, bring your own.
