Awful venue, definitely NOT an hotel as advertised
Pros:

Good location, comfortable bed. Nice old house.

Cons:

No hot water on arrival, 'boiler broken !' No staff available.. Room cold. Self service everything. No restaurant, despite suggestion on website. Shaving light not working. Shower terrible to operate once hot water was provided in the morning. No television or radio in room. This is definitely not an hotel.

Cons:

No staff! Nowhere in the hotel information did it say there are no staff. Self checking which is fine but no staff.

Hotel information said restaurant and bar. Again a self self dining room for breakfast.

Bar is an honour system for soft drinks, beer and only red wine. No staff.

The whole experience was very weird.

Beautiful historical building but no service
Pros:

The room warmed up after heater turned on and turned out to be quite comfortable

Cons:

The first problem I had was finding the place - eventually went into The Highland Hotel and they told me where it was hidden - then I needed a code to get into the room and I had difficulty accessing the code because I couldn’t access booking.com emails so tried to ring hotel - no one answered - when I complained the owner got very defensive that I called his hotel - The Ghost hotel as no one was there - no reception staff - no bar staff - no dining room staff then surprise surprise the shower had no pressure but eventually did get hot

Very comfy bed. Nice looking hotel.

Cons:

Could have done with another heater in the room as the radiator in the room was right by the door so it didn't really put much heat into the room.

Location was good at the morning. other than that it was a standard house type stay not sure if we really can call this as a hotel.

Cons:

The cleanliness of the room was below expectations and could definitely be improved. The shower was unusual and difficult to use, as it was impossible to achieve a comfortable temperature — the water was either too hot or too cold, with no balance in between. The entrance to the property was very dark and would benefit from additional lighting, as it felt unwelcoming and slightly unsafe when arriving. Additionally, there was no customer service available throughout the stay.

Good Value
Pros:

In a lovely location and fairly close to a town. Hotel was what you'd expect in older property. Room was clean and I prefer not having a carpet.

Cons:

Breakfast didn't have a big selection, however was adequate and matched the price.

Pros:

Location and room were perfect. No staff at all on site but easy to check in and get to our room. Would recommend.

Cons:

Would prefer face to face contact on check in.
