Important information:

Please note that there is no travel (both flights or the ferry) to and from the Isles of Scilly on Sundays in April, May, June, September and October. In July and August the ferry does operate on Sundays. However, flights still do not operate on Sundays. Please take this into account when booking your trip to the Isles of Scilly.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.

If the flight had been delayed due to the weather, we would have loved to stay another day!!!
Pros:

Food was great, staff very accommodating and room very comfortable. All in all an extremely enjoyable holiday.

Location was Superb! Right up on the Hill, view from the Castle was fantastic.

Cons:

First day, I found spiders and cobwebs beside the bed and dead spider at the corner of the window. I called the attention of the duty manager but was not too bothered about the issue.

She said, it is only a spider. Eventually she came and removed the cobwebs and spiders. Bedding was cleaned and changed everyday.

Food was delicious. Five star!👌

Superb.
Pros:

Everything was perfect, except the steps inside the castle, I have difficulty walking so steps are bad news.
The breakfast was very good with as much as you could possibly want, both cooked, cereal, pastries etc.
We booked into the castle dining room every night, the food was superb!
We have dined several times at Gordon Ramsay’s and other high-end restaurants and hotels in London and I can assure you that the chef at the Star Castle is equal to and in my opinion better than any celebrity chef we have yet found.
The set menu is fantastic value, superbly presented and a tour de force of the culinary art, go nowhere else to dine!
We had a garden room with balcony and sea view, it was spacious, clean, quiet and warm, perfect really.
All the staff are welcoming and friendly with nothing being too much for them no matter what you ask for.
This was our 3rd visit to the Star Castle although the previous ones were about 25 years ago, it did not disappoint!

Cons:

My knees did not like the climb from Hugh Town up the hill to the Castle, but thats my problem!

A wonderful break in stunning historic surroundings with gourmet food
Pros:

Breakfast was full English. Dinner was superb MasterChef quality and portions just right. Room was exciting. I've never been in a room before on battlements!

Cons:

The path from the room to the dining room/main building was poorly lit and uneven (outdooors). I was glad I took a torch, though the reception offered to provide one.

It was unforgettable.
Pros:

A quirky old castle with modern facilities close to the Quay and town. Amazing meals available on site at excellent value especially the in house dinner menu. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and informative. Room was great with good beds and lots of hot water.

Ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis, auch das Abendessen im Diningroom war sehr zu empfehlen.
Pros:

Sehr authentisch und gemütlich. Das Ambiente war außergewöhnlich.

Cons:

Es fehlten Kleinigkeiten wie z.B. Ablage im Bad oder Möglichkeiten zum Aufhängen von Handtüchern aber das ist natürlich auch der besonderen Location geschuldet.

Historic building in an idyllic location
Pros:

Reception staff lovely - great communication beforehand & helpful during our stay.
Views great - would have preferred to stay in the castle though rather than one of the outside rooms.
Dinner quality good.

Cons:

Breakfast buffet very ordinary/ran out /dated choices. Menu items much better.
Restaurants lacked a bit of atmosphere.

Le confort de la chambre devrait être amélioré notamment au niveau du rangement des vêtements, du pommeau de douche, de l' entretien de la terrasse, de l'étanchéité des ouvrants.................

Lovely stay and we’re booking for next year
Pros:

Stunning location, lovely and comfortable garden room, fresh food, beautifully cooked and presented. A delightful stay.

Cons:

I felt sometimes some, not all, of the staff could have been slightly less aloof. The majority were very friendly, particularly the lovely receptionists.
