Loved our stay will definitely be back!
Pros:

Gorgeous little flat, ideal for what we were looking for and a perfect location for us. Beautifully appointed and had everything you would need for a short stay. All the staff were helpful and friendly but we do have to mention Alexa, who really looked after us on our arrival. We have family that have just relocated to the area so we will definitely be staying here again!

Cons:

The only small negative would be, on our arrival Alexa did bring to our attention the noisy radiator in the main living space. At the time it didn’t seem to be much of a problem but we weren’t prepared for how loud it would be during the night, once everything was quiet. My husband and I slept in the bedroom so it didn’t disturb us to much but our daughter slept on the sofa bed in the main living space, so did struggle a little bit.

Pros:

The location

Cons:

No breakfast provided , even though we paid for it.
Toiletries was a old used bar of imperial leather.
No milk for a hot drink.
Tiny bit of coffee in the bottom of a glass jar.
Didn’t sleep as the noise from the heating kept us up all night.
Cobwebs all over the rooms.
Bedding all bobbled.
Only 1 choice on the main menu for vegetarian ( risotto).
Phoned down to say there was no breakfast been left or anything else.
Reply was there should be some bread and jam ! ( which there wasn’t) .
Still didn’t even receive that.
Complained to management next day. Who apologised and offered £20 refund.
I wouldn’t of paid £20 for the whole stay.
Location is beautiful on the plus side.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.
The couple staying next door said they had the same experience!

Will be returning.
Pros:

A wonderful little retreat above a splendid pub with amazing staff and wonderful food. If you’re looking for a short break and a short distance to the drinking hole, this is the place for you.

Nice.
Pros:

A tidy, comfortable attic apartment so sloping ceilings but warm, nicely furnished and decorated. Lovely hot water. Generous granola, yoghurt, bread, butter, jams and biscuit breakfast in the apartment. Pub accommodation can be noisy but conversation from downstairs was muted rather than intrusive.

Cons:

Not a dislike, but a key box would have been good to leave the key in when leaving as I had to leave the place open as there was no one to hand the keys to.

Pros:

Lovely self contained accommodation, very clean and comfortable, excellent shower and kitchen facilities. Continental breakfast left for us was of great quality. Meal at pub very good and staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent seating area outside and in.

Cons:

Changing for a wedding so would have been nice to have had a full length mirror although appreciate it may be thought difficult with the sloping ceilings.

Terrible. Such a shame staff were not apologetic or sympathetic in any way.
Pros:

The property itself was lovely, just a shame about the manners of the staff and the loud music late at night.

Cons:

We arrived and there was a large function on with music until 1230/1am. The party tent right next to our room and we had a young baby. Out of courtesy they could have let us know. Really rude when approached about the music, dismissive and informed us to contact booking.com as it wasn’t there problem. So disappointed as it could have been a lovely stay. Would not recommend based on the attitude of staff and our unfortunate bad night.

Excellent food and room with really friendly feel
Pros:

The room was quite large with everything you would need for a short to medium length stay, it was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable, the staff were very friendly and the food in the pub/restaurant was very nice, there were a lot of local people using the pub which is always a good sign, we will definitely recommend you to our friends and would happily stay or eat at the Trowel again
