History galore
Pros:

On site museum was something we visited twice during our stay and we found the Balibo Five movie very interesting though sad. The infinity pool was refreshing. Our room was excellent and the meals delicious.

Cons:

The NZ Pinot Gris was very expensive at USD 45 per bottle. But we did enjoy it after the rough road into Balibo that is under construction.

Pros:

Beautiful pool, incredible views! A valuable intertwining of history and leisure. Very well done muesum and the opportunity to watch Balibo 5 movie was very impactful. Excellent walking tours as well advertised in rooms.

The view alone is worth it but they also have food
Pros:

I’m so happy we saw the movie after visiting the place, no before. The hosts did their best to please us and we felt treated like royalty.

Cons:

Swimming pool wasn’t cleaned in the morning when we wanted to use is and later it became too full, no place to sit

Sunset and view. Village life. Local friendly people.

Cons:

Manageress not suitable for the job. We were met with no welcome, no smile just almost a demand for the immediate payment of our entire stay. Over the following 4 days everything and every request, 2 teabags for the room etc, was just such of a
n effort and often met with rolling of eyes.

Cons:

Not really enough around Balibo to do. 2 small museums, but not much information on walks to caves etc.

Lovely getaway from Dili!
Pros:

Absolutely beautiful place with gorgeous greenery. The weather is great - a perfect getaway from Dili

Cons:

The food prices are quite high which was a bit of a challenge. But, understandable as they probably must bring everything from distant markets.

Enjoyed our stay and what they have built there. Would recomend.
Pros:

Loved the atmosphere and the little bit of luxury they have developed there. The museum was interesting as was the town. Would have liked to do a few walks there, but decided to just chill there.

Cons:

Seems that the road up to the town is undergoing some much required attention and will assist with the journey.
Getting there can be difficult.. Either a car or a local bus.. We took the local bus option that leaves at 6 in the morning and gets there about 10am. it was squashy but mostly bearable.. The bus stops right next to the fort.
