Donkey clinic and education center

Bellissimo posto dove soggiornare, in piu il progetto Donkey clinic è davvero unico e interessante. La struttura è molto accogliente e i proprietari sono davvero gentili.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour, ils ont été très flexible sur notre horaire d'arrivée tardive et le repas nous attendait!
Les repas et petit déjeuner était très bon.
L'expérience avec les ânes de la donkey clinic était très super nous avons pu les brosser 😁!
Ils proposent aussi des excursions pour découvrir Mannar!

Die Idee dahinter hat uns besonders gefallen und es war schön zu sehen, dass es Menschen gibt, die sich auch um die im Bürgerkrieg zurückgelassenen und inzwischen verwilderten Esel kümmern. 🫏

Die Unterkunft und das Zimmer mit Bad sind einfach, aber sauber und der Preis total angemessen.

Die Betreiber haben das Herz am richtigen Fleck, sind superfreundlich und offen für Fragen und Gespräche.

Das Frühstück und Abendessen sind landestypisch, reichhaltig und lecker.

Sollten wir wieder in Mannar sein, werden wir dort wieder übernachten.

My stay here was the absolute best. I ended up staying here for 9 nights because I loved it so much I didn’t want to leave. The room is spacious and clean. The food is also really good. Most of all staying here you get to experience the donkeys close up and all the other amazing work they do here (from providing education to supporting the local community). I loved getting to know the donkey closely and was able to groom them, spend as much time with them as I wanted and bought them bananas and carrots for treats which was so lovely to see their excitement. I was able to volunteer to help out during my stay which I can recommend as it was a really rewarding experience. Also Alhathir offers tours that take you all around the biggest sights of Mannar which I did and it was the best experience. The family and staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I really recommend staying here if you want an authentic experience while supporting a really good cause. You might end up staying longer than you planned, just like me :)

I have only just left and am already constantly thinking about coming back as I loved it so much.

Loved the donkeys, very quiet isolated place.Unfortunately the wife was not feeling well so she only managed to give us dinner for the first night.Stayed three nights so it was a slight inconvenience to have to go out for breakfast,lunch and dinner.However the family running the place we're really kind and even though not well they let me use the washing machine and even hung my clothes out because I was off getting breakfast.

Such a great way to learn more about the history of donkeys in Sri Lanka. Would recommend staying here instead of just visiting for a day.
You can really see how much passion they put into the work, and the owners were incredibly welcoming.

You get a tour of the donkey sanctuary and can feed the donkeys. Had a lot of fun! Room was clean and breakfast was very good. Help these guys out, they are doing a great job with helping the unlucky donkeys and the local comunity. Very friendly and helpful owners who can also organise bird watching activities.

La chambre était très confortable, propre et fonctionnelle.

Charming place, particularly with the friendly donkeys. The staff are exceptionally warm and welcoming. The room was nicer than most, with good AC. Very quiet. It's about a kilometer from the main road. I enjoyed sitting in the outdoor area. I took a scooter from Mannar, and that is a great way to visit this whole area.

Les enfants ont adoré séjourner dans une clinique pour les ânes. Le jardin est clos et sécurisé c'est confortable en famille.

Sehr gepflegte Anlage, geräumige, saubere Zimmer . Wir haben ein leckeres Abendessen gekocht bekommen. Der Leiter der Esel-Klinik war sehr freundlich, hat uns nützliche Tipps gegeben. Mit Herzblut leitet der die Esel-Klinik. Mit einem Aufenthalt dort unterstützt man das Projekt
