Cat Ba Swiss Hotel

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and far below acceptable standards.

First of all, the room and bathroom had visible mold, which made the environment feel unhygienic and uncomfortable. On top of that, there was a strong sewage smell coming from the toilet throughout our stay.

One of the most alarming experiences was with the elevator. We stepped inside, the doors closed, and suddenly none of the buttons worked. We were completely stuck. Even worse, the emergency alarm button did not function at all. This is a serious safety hazard and should never be possible in any hotel. After repeatedly banging on the door, we were eventually freed by someone from the outside.

After this incident, we chose to take the stairs every time. However, the staff kept telling us to use the elevator, clearly not understanding that we no longer felt safe using it.

The overall condition of the hotel felt neglected. There was no lighting in the stairwell, which made it unsafe to use. Strangely, we appeared to be the only guests in the entire hotel, which added to the unsettling atmosphere.

The breakfast was very poor. There was no buffet or variety—just instant coffee or tea and a simple bread roll with egg. When we ordered scrambled eggs, we were served a fried egg instead. After the first experience, we chose to have breakfast elsewhere for the remainder of our stay.

Finally, when we checked out, there was no one present at the reception, which summed up the lack of service throughout our stay.

Overall, this hotel does not meet even basic expectations in terms of hygiene, safety, and service. The hotel seems to fit in a series of many in Vietnam that have a lot of fake reviews.

Booking zeigte das Hotel an der Beachfront ( die gibt es aufgrund der SunWorld Bauarbeiten aber gar nicht mehr) Es ist aber ca. 400m den Berg hoch. Aber trotzdem schnell zu erreichen

Breakfast was quite basic - however the hotel was near empty when we were there. And please turn on the AC or some fans in the lobby because guests will arrive chuffed from the uphill walk!
