Avoid if you have self-respect, even for the tempting price
Pros:

The staff were nice from the little communication we had. The location is great being right in the centre of town.

Cons:

The room has a serious mould problem, which was covered up by a strong smell of bleach in the room. I used to come to this bar as a student and we were warned about the noise, but the noise levels were insane. I can sleep through a lot and am not usually bothered by noise, but this was over 70 db in the room itself. Who knows if that's even legal? It's as if you're in toilets of the bar, not in accomodation. The earplugs provided do nothing at these levels.

DO THE RIGHT THING AND GET SOME SOUND (and damp) INSULATION!

Ruined my weekend away!!!

Cons:

The room was on top of an unbearably noisy bar. The music was blaring upstairs till the early hours of the morning. I have never in my life experienced such a noise. It was impossible to think let alone sleep. When i went downstairs to complain the staff behind the bar laughed at me. Then i was approached by a man who claimed to be the owner who repeatedly said the noise was warned about on booking .com. Well i hadnt seen it. On revisiting the site i found the warning hidden away in a photo amongst a dozen other photos saying it “may” be a little noisy. Well thats an understatement. It also claimed somewhere else to be family friendly. What a joke how on earth can they expect children to put up with that . Yes if you delve deep enough they can claim that you have been warned but it should be a headline description not hidden away. Absolute joke. DO NOT BOOK this place!!

Thank you for your hospitality we had a good time

Really only one thing that maybe isn't much to do about it. At night the drains smell.

Absolutely bargain
Pros:

Very central location the view was great I was pre warned about the noise also the lady at the reception desk was very helpful she was brilliant- the room was toasty the bed comfy the view can’t really fault it for a bargain I slept really well they supplied everything for me they have done a great job in making this place very comfortable .

A very bad experience - no hot water on final day, no effective wifi and stuffy/hot room.
Cons:

Friendly staff but otherwise a very bad experience.
I was warned about the noise from the bar, but it was incredibly loud until well after 1am.
The room was too hot, stuffy and smelling of mold (even with the window wide open and a fan on) because there was a radiator that couldn't be turned off.
The desk was unusable and the wifi simply wouldn't connect to either my laptop or phone. And on the final day (Sunday) there was no hot water at all so I left early for home to get a shower back in Wales!
A dismal experience and I left exhausted and unable to wash.
