Good location
Litle bit noisy
Perfectly central location
All the stairs 😂
The hotel was excellent for location. On the river front and very close to the town centre.
The music from the pub below was loud and it went on till 12am. Music could have been turned down as pub wasn't even busy. A smell in the bathroom coming from the shower.
The staff. They made us welcome and there were friendly.
There wasn't anything to not like.
The property was close to both events I was attending, which made it easy for me to get around. The facilities in the room were very good, I had no hot water on the first morning, but I Spoke with Alex’s and she sorted the issue by resetting the boiler.
The loud music at night which went on till 12-1am, but I was aware of this when I made my booking so I was prepared for this.
Nothing
Room was in the loft. Had to leave the room by 9am because of the heat. No air in room. Rooms were dirty. Bed wasn't clean. Husband has came home with a rash all over his body. The worst hotel we've stayed in. No staff only bar staff. Couldn't check out as hotel was closed. Told to post key through letterbox. Nowhere to put bags so had to keep them with us on the last day. Had to use fire escape to get in at night. No staff in the mornings only when the bar staff came in. Definitely not a hotel. Just a room above a pub. Went away for our 20th wedding anniversary and it was totally ruined. We couldnt even go back to our room in the afternoon because of the heat and dust. Husband banged his head on the ceiling because the room was that small. Couldn't close curtains as they went over the bed by your head so got no sleep from, noise, itching and feeling dirty all weekend.
Friendly staff good location
Pounding music on a Tuesday night while the bar is empty. Very uncomfortable bed
It’s in a beautiful location
Couldn’t get the blinds to stay down in dorms windows and we’re already undressed for bed so so didn’t ask for assistance
Location was great. Staff excellent.
The light in the shower was flickering - I forgot to report it. The ceiling has low beams and we both got caught out and banged our heads - but it didn’t bother us unduly.
Perfect location the room was a little small for the money as it was central would have expected room to be a bit bigger but very comfy
Liked the fact it was central and near the river
couldn’t get a more central location, right on the front of the river, nice staff, clean modern rooms, river view from the windows. whilst staying you also get 25% off at the lowther pub underneath which was a great addition we didn’t know was included! :)
i’ve seen other reviews about the noise, they’re over exaggerating. the room has ear plugs if you want to use them, but the music volume was fine. expect to hear a little something if you book to stay above a pub tho, don’t be daft
strange in and out. there’s no reception, had to inform bar staff of our stay (not an issue), we were then guided up a load of stairs and doors and one way exits to our room, quite confusing to get in and out, we had to use the fire escape which leads to an alley way at the back of the pub. wouldn’t say it’s the safest if you travel just with the girls as there’s no security or anything guarding said door.
went back to room at like 1am but decided to go get food after, we got IDd by the bouncers of the pub, they genuinely didn’t believe us when we said we were just gonna bed and that there’s a hotel as part of the pub😂. had to organise someone to leave fire exit open to us to come back to.
the rooms walls are verrryyyyy thin, understandable for the old building, was on edge wondering if the cleaner was gonna come in whilst we were in bed. could hear next doors every move.
these are not reasons to avoid, this place is acc lovely and i would stop again, just giving people a heads up!😂
