Pros:

The grounds were very well kept and staff exceptional

Cons:

Each room we had were so different to each other. Would be good if each room were as good as each other.

Gorgeous setting

Gorgeous hotel set in stunning grounds. Food was lovely too. Basil the parrot was an interesting addition!

Hôtel dans un cadre superbe. Maison ancienne très British. Dîner et petit déjeuner savoureux. Personnel très agréable. Literie très confortable.

Cons:

J’ai tout aimé, juste à signaler pour les personnes que cela pourrait peut-être gêner dans notre chambre douche dans baignoire avec uniquement pommeau fixe au dessus de la tête.

Lovely short break, great staff and excellent food
Pros:

Lovely old property in beautiful grounds. Bar and restaurant were fab and staff could not have been nicer. Very relaxing break, would stay again.

Cons:

No air con and it was a very hot 2-3 days!

A beautiful hotel in a great location but food disappointing
Pros:

Beautiful location and the hotel was run by friendly staff that were very accomadating. The room was a large room and the overall standards was very good..loved the location was very peaceful.

Cons:

Only few issues we had was the shower hardly ran any water and was hard to get temperature setting right. The food at dinner really want great hence the 2nd night we ate elsewhere. Would have been good to have a mini fridge also.

The staff were the friendliest people, the food was so fresh and tasty the location is superb and the forest walks is excellent, I'll definitely be going back.

A lovely welcoming family hotel with great standards surrounded by countryside
Pros:

The location of this hotel was excellent, lovely peaceful grounds, surrounded by countryside. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very homely inside and the family room was very spacious. There was plenty of free parking. The big deal for us was it being dog friendly and that was one of the main reasons we stayed there. The grounds were ideal for us to walk our dog too and we were able to let her off to run off her energy. The breakfast was really enjoyable, to a high standard and had lots of choice. So pleased we found this gem in Dumfries. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Cons:

We loved everything! Would have been great if they had a pool but I don't think they could just magic that!

We would return but not in the summer as the room was far too hot. Had a terrible sleep due the room being like an oven.
Pros:

Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Nice gardens to walk in. Great for dogs. Food was excellent.

Cons:

Rooms were very hot, no air conditioning. Shower wasn’t working well. Rooms could do with an upgrade.

Fantastic garden’s staff are very helpful and friendly.
Pros:

The garden’s were outstanding.
It’s fantastic location if you had a dog for walking.
The staff were friendly welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
We are definitely going back.
If anyone does go look at for ( TRIMATHY)
