Great overnight stop - we will come back agian
Pros:

Lovely location and welcoming staff and comfortable room with some extra touches such as bottled water .
Dinner was delicious at the hotel too and breakfast was a very good selection of good quality food

if you want to be taken out of the real world this is the place you need to stay
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing and the pub food in the evening was lovely. staff was very friendly and welcoming we will be coming back again.

Cons:

the hot water for the featured bath could be a little be warmer.

Gorgeous hotel with lush food in a stunning village, everything you’d want from a hotel stay. Exceptional, highly recomm
Pros:

Wow what a gorgeous hotel/pub in the most beautiful location. Full of history this place & beautifully done out. The cooked breakfast I have to say was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The location, the village of Downham is just stunning, we went fur a lovely walk next day.

Cons:

Can’t think of anything tbh, I’d definitely return.

One night stopover lived up to expectations !
Pros:

Lovely location in a tranquil village ,,, lovely rooms , super food from a decent / varied menu ! worth the trip out ... fantastic in summer to sit outside and soak up the view :) if i had a compliant / observation ,, the english breakfast was HUGE ...!

Highly recommended for a stay in the country
Pros:

Great location which is excellent for exploring the surrounding countryside. Bicycle storage was an added bonus. The room surpassed expectations- comfy with all amenities. Included breakfast was also delicious! The Assheton Arms pub is a quaint country pub with great local beers on tap and excellent restaurant.

Disappointing 2 day stay
Pros:

The location

Cons:

Our room was not made up on the second day. We had been out all day and arrived back at 4-30pm. I notified staff and they apologised and told us to wait in bar area. An hour later after 3 times on to staff, we finally got in our room. We were tired and wanted shower and a cup of tea before our meal at the hotel at 7pm. At no point was a complimentary drink offered.

Beautiful village location and high quality rooms.
Pros:

The beautiful location and quality of size the rooms. High quality food in the restaurant.

Cons:

No internet access on the day of our stay due to a power fault which was fixed on the day we checked out
