Unique stay and decent but best for the partygoer or night owl.
Pros:

The common areas were really cozy and wonderful for rainy afternoons and the view was nice. Especially the morning was nice for listening to the birds around. The staff were really friendly. Food was good.

Cons:

Finding the staff was sometimes a challenge, it is open so can get very hot or cold depending on the weather. Its extremely noisy (which isnt the hostel’s fault because its due to the town businesses) which made it difficult to sleep at night. The wifi was very poor so if you have to work, combined with the night noise you would have a challenging time. And getting up to the room itself was like a short gym trip although it is called a ‘tree house’ so keep it in mind. In addition the cleanliness of the bathroom was questionable.

Pros:

Muito má experiência.
Tínhamos reservado o hostel 2 dias antes com email de confirmação , chegamos ao hostel depois de 10h de viagem de bus e afinal não havia camas disponíveis pois supostamente “nao receberam a confirmação da reserva”.
Ofereceram uma tenda partilhada no terraço como solução.
Não ficamos pois estava frio e chuva, eu pedi para cancelar a reserva , eles cancelaram mal como se eu não tivesse aparecido no check-in e ainda tive que pagar a taxa de cancelamento igual ao valor da reserva sem absolutamente culpa nenhuma.
Ou seja , tivemos que procurar outro hostel as 22h da noite para dormir e ainda me cobraram dinheiro , pelos 2 erros que cometeram.

A peaceful hostel with beautiful views and incredibly kind hosts.
Pros:

I had a great stay at Hostal Tree House in Ella, run by a very kind and welcoming couple. The host even picked me up from the bus stand at night, which I really appreciated, and his wife kindly helped with my laundry as well. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm, and the place also has a lovely terrace café on the top where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The views are beautiful — tea plantations on one side and the railway tracks on the other. It’s also easy to cross the tracks and explore Ella town from there.

Pros:

The ambience of the restaurant. Vicinity to town centre and train station.

Cons:

The bed was way too short, sheets not really clean, blanket was a microfiber cloth that made you sweat liked hell at night.
Bolt lock at the door that anybody could have closed from outside and lock the person inside the room up.

Beautiful hostel with lovely hosts and great location
Pros:

The hostel is located very close to the station, has a lot of space to chill, read, work on laptop etc. the family who owns it puts a lot of effort in maintaining it clean and cosy. The breakfast is wonderful ! The dormitory is spacious and comfortable. Would stay again !

Cons:

As it is close to the main road it is a bit noisy but the beautiful chilled space makes forget about it

Pros:

One of the most beautiful family business i ve stayed. Amazingly kind and helpful people. Free towel, free soap, free water coffee everything was top tier. I enjoyed so much playing with them karam. If i come back to nuwara eliya i would definitelty stay in there again. Close to single tree hiking area and temple. I love it. Istuti for everything

Really chill place to rest and see Ella
Pros:

Really chill place nice lounge area hot showers which is pretty rare in Sri Lanka good location

Cons:

No ac location is next to the train and road and construction so there is noise

Pros:

Avevamo prenotato una camera privata ma ci sono stati alcuni problemi e alla fine ci hanno messo in ostello. Ci hanno fatto uno sconto sul prezzo e sono stati molto gentili. A mezzanotte ci hanno aiutato a organizzare un piccolo brindisi per la mia amica che compiva gli anni. Bella la posizione (un po rumoroso), e bellissima vista
