Beautiful location right on the seafront
Lovely traditional hotel
Nothing
Lovely views and easy private parking on site, next to Exmouth seafront
Decor and furniture a little tired.
The staff were helpful and welcoming and the location was excellent
Windows outdated and awkward to open and close, there was soap dispenser but no other toiletries i.e little shampoos or shower gel and used to having these at other hotels so had to go and buy things just after arriving. Only did room service on certain days so more time spent asking for things like toilet rolls. Car parking should be included as again first thing on arrival, you get is additional costs, this should be included in price.
Liked the public areas. Good var, lounge and central
With access thtough the hotel's large garden to the sea front.
The room was tired, furniture vasic, no USB port in room. Carpet smelt abit. Could do with cleaning.
Bathroom was new but shower water temperature inconsistent. Room lock was tricky to open which i told reception about.
Cost effective - had a bar staff friendly
Bit dated
Its location and friendliness of staff.
It just needs a little tarting up!
Room location room 203 loved the 2 windows with tree view
The dead bolt on door didn't work ,
Clean and comfortable rooms. In an excellent location and a good price.
Rooms could probably do with a refresh/lick of paint
I was given a room with a view over the estuary. It was lovely. The hotel is within walking distance of several good restaurants. It seems a very safe area. It was just a very short drive away from "A la Ronde," a very beautiful and interesting National Trust property which I visited the following morning on my way to Cornwall.
The exterior of the hotel could do with a facelift. The tatty awnings could do with some mending. But my room was clean and I was happy with it.

It was clean but not on the Esplanade, it's on another road about 100yds back from the front and not as photo shows!
Finding it!
Staff and location.
A bit dated.
10am check out was too early.
A ‘grand old lady’ of a hotel. Lovely setting, on the Esplanade, with views across the Estuary to Dawlish. Ample parking (£6.00 a night) at the rear of the hotel in the private car park. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
We were upgraded on arrival to a front-facing sea view room, which had its own balcony. During our visit the weather was very changeable, but in good weather the balcony would be a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by! There were two chairs inside, which meant we could enjoy the view from behind glass!
The room was spacious, with everything you need. Linen and towels were clean and fresh.
Breakfast was buffet-style, with a selection of continental and English breakfast items available.
There was a range of meals and light bites available from the bar menu, with evening dining available in the dining room. There’s also a range of restaurants in easy walking distance, offering everything from tapas to seafood.
We enjoyed our two-night stay in The Imperial and will certainly visit again.
The location and staff.
Very outdated rooms and very cold at night. Bathroom was very outdated.
Superb location. Great quality breakfast. Welcoming and helpful staff.
Nothing to respond here.
Excellent staff (most importantly). It's a wonderful place, and the people are what makes it really a second home for me. Thank you to everyone - day and night staff.
