Please be aware that some restaurants including Highland Fish Bar at Macdonald Aviemore Resort will be seasonal, but at least one of the restaurants will be open during low season.

The credit/debit card used to book the Advance Purchase rate must be presented to reception on arrival at the hotel. Please note that failure to do so will result in an alternative payment method being required.

For guests staying on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package you can enjoy a £25 spend towards food in one of our restaurants.

Children aged 12 and under can stay and take breakfast for free when sharing a suitable room with two adults. Child dinner will be charged separately dependent on menu chosen.

Please be aware that Thunder in the Glens event will be taking place on resort from the 22nd - 24th August 2025 inclusive. This event will cause elevated noise levels due to being a motorcycle event, and there will also be live music being played around the resort until late evening.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Disappointing
Pros:

Great location

Cons:

Bar closed, breakfast room in another property.
Resort leisure complex in need of maintenance and upgrading.
Door between our room and next door was unlocked on arrival leading to visit from next door occupant! Had to ask twice for adjoining door to be locked.

Comfortable rooms.
Pros:

Comfortable beds/clean.

Cons:

The lift was broken and we did not know this till we arrived and we were on the third floor.
Also our room was the furthest away from anyplace.

Had a nice break will return with the kids next time as it seemed such a fab place for kids.

I enjoyed the location rooms clean staff friendly breakfast was also nice

Cons:

Wasn’t a dislike but would have been good to have had something on at the on site cinema on the Saturday but that could just be because of the season.

Fine for a stop over, but overpriced and geared towards families with children
Pros:

Super friendly check in staff on reception, and in the Morlich hotel specifically the staff were lovely. My room was great very comfortable, with coffee facilities and a nice shower. A little annoying as I paid for a super king room but it was two twin beds pushed together, so really i slept in a single bed.

Cons:

The facilities here are not great. The website led me to believe that the leisure facilities were part of the Morlich hotel, but they are actually for the whole resort complex. This means the 'lagoon pool' is the same pool with a slide and wavepool aimed at children. Therefore it was the least relaxing pool i have ever spent time in. The sauna is over 16's but packed because all the parents are there to supervise the kids. It felt like a public leisure centre. I booked this hotel specifically for the pool / sauna facilities and the website says the hotel is perfect for couples on a getaway, so it was misleading. I left after 20 minutes as it felt like a butlins pool and was not clean, and filled with children from morning till night. The breakfast was ok food wise, but held in the food court in another building, again not the 'adult friendly' hotel. It is a foodcourt style with lots of families, and the staff were not super friendly. The whole stay was over priced for what was delivered on and I think you need to be much clearer about the shared nature of all facilities across the complex.

The experience made us want to visit again but for a longer stay.
Pros:

The room was exceptional, excellent size bed and all was spotless. The bathroom was spacious.
The restaurant was very good and offered a good variety of food.
The outward views were lovely. Overall - excellent

Cons:

Coming away! Could have stayed for a week or more!
There were nothing to dislike. The staff were brilliant.

Don’t move people to hotels they haven’t booked cos they won’t be happy.

Not much. The scenery surrounding the hotel in Aviemore itself. The hotel we booked was closed and they gave us a room in another hotel owned by them on the same complex. We were supposed to have been informed that our booked hotel was closed by email but NO EMAIL was received and we believe was never sent.

Cons:

This switching of hotel was the second time they had done it to us. The same story was given the first time but it will be the last. We shall never book any of these hotels again.

Over-priced substandard room.
Pros:

Breakfast was good as were the staff

Cons:

Room not particularly clean and standard well below rate paid for room. Bathroom extractor fan very noisy. Room was cold when we entered and took a long time to heat up. Room located next to lift hence noisy. Door to adjoining room and could hear other people talking. And just put some decent coffee in the room.

Lovely stay
Pros:

Our room was lovely very comfortable bed and spotless

Cons:

Very long walk to our room and lift didn't go to our floor so had to drag suitcases up a flight of stairs
