Super affordable accommodation fabulously close to the Besakih mother temple. This is not a glamorous hotel but a lovely, authentic locally owned and run retreat centre where you mix with other guests and can use the kitchen to cook. Beautiful pagoda for meditation/relaxing looks over an amazing view. I will return! 😃
Amazing value but might be tricky to find though Google maps does a good job.
Tranquil location so close to the beautiful temple.
Lovely family run business and gorgeous yoga room and the chance to meet with Manku.
I loved that because we were staying there, we got to stay at the temple after hours when it was quiet and could use the tickets over 2 days.
A nice place to rest over a couple of days and enjoy this beautiful sacred surroundings.
This retreat is run by the family of a Hindu priest. It has eight comfortable rooms a communal kitchen and dining space a a large meditation hall with the priest’s own altar. He meets with guests and introduces them to a short prayer ceremony if they are interested. It’s a short walk across the river to Besakeih temples but you have to buy your ticket and walk up from the main entrance the first time. The rainforest, the small farms and the longer walks toward My Agung are wonderful.
My only grumble is about the careless attitude of other visitors toward kitchen clean ups! There are no full time staff so communication can also be a bit slow sometimes and you definitely want to book your own transport out.
Un lieu exceptionnel pour qui est sensible à la spiritualité, aux belles énergies, et aux belles personnes. L'hôte, la situation, les super good vibes :). Je recommande
rien
Amazing spiritual place, wonderful meditation with priest Mangku Jati.
Simple and tidy facilities -
Appreciated the water, though pump wasn’t working. One morning the front door was locked until 9am when staff arrived. Otherwise very helpful and kind staff
Absolutely nothing!
Nobody was there for check in. Waited 1,5h and had to book alternative. Wrote on booking at 3pm (noted check in). Answer came at 7pm. Did not receive refund until today.
We made a spontaneous trip to Pura Besakih Temple and made a last minute booking at Bali Besuki Retreat. The place exceeded all expectations. We were greeted by the owner,Nengah. The rooms were very modern and clean. The location was walking distance to the temple. Nengah organised a personal tour of the temple, and was extremely knowlegable about the history and customs. On the following morning, his mother made a most delicious breakfast.I cannot praise enough the generosity and the welcome the family gave us.It was the highlight of our trip to Bali.I highly recommend this retreat and the family for their help with transport, organising tour, food delivery and friendship.
The property had everything I needed for the stay in the area. My main purpose was to the trek to the Mt.Agung, and they arranged a reliable guide and offered the space to relax after the overnight trip. The facilities were basic but the place had a very relaxing feel itself, the location is perfect for both visit to the temples and the mountain. They also helped arranging the ticket & guide for the temples, which were only a short walk from the property.
I am very pleased to have stayed at this property, not only for the great location but also for the great hospitality received during my stay. I definitely will stay here again for the next visit to the area.
it is not about the property, securing the transport from the Besakih area to other areas in Bali is tricky, I'd recommend arranging the driver in advance for the departure day.
The property is next to the Besakih mother temple amd is owned amd operated by Mangku Jati and his family. Occasionally Mangku would stop by at night and lead some prayers amd meditations if ppl are interested in the yoga mediation room. Really high vibes on the slopes of Mt Agung. Perfect for someone look to do a personal retreat or host a retreat on sacred land.
Must plan your own meals. Theres a kitchen so must cook your own food, have a motor bike to eat at nearby restaurant, order take out or plan to fast.
It is 5 mins walk through a short route to the great temple and very peaceful location with a nice view.
It is more like an Airbnb and no staff is there. When we reached the location no one was there and the booking.com number did not work. We were a bit worried as it was pitch dark in that street. Luckily we found another number on the door and called them. The manager came in 2 mins and showed our rooms. The rooms are good but have no AC or fan. Better if there is fan in the rooms atleast as it got suffocating at night and we had to borrow a fan from the common area. Overall the common premises was not clean but our rooms were ok. There was no staff on campus so it can get little worrisome if you are alone.
The most comfortable bed, huge shower, very helpful and nice staff/mananager (helped with food delivery, tour to Mt Agung, entrance to Besakih and more). The place itself is amazing. Very calm and remote but at the same time just right next to Besakih Temple. From here, you're able to sneak in the temple even before it officially opens to visitors, you just need to buy the entrance the day before. I was completely alone in the temple during sunrise.
Could use a fan or an A/C in the room but the weather there is fresh so I didn't mind that much. Still 10/10
It is very reasonably priced accommodation in a rural setting near Mount Agung - the highest peak in Bali. Besakih temple nearby. Very simple and welcoming place.
Could be a bit hard to get out of without own transport.
Really nice location. Amazing view and nice people. It was so cozy to hang out next to fire place during the night.
