Motswari African Retreat & Walking Safaris by NEWMARK

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Motswari! It was the beginning of our South Africa trip and could not have been better.
The accommodation was beautiful, the food absolutely delicious (thank you Eva!), the staff very very friendly (thank you MJ).
Our safari experiences were also extremely special: both the walking and the jeep ones. Our guides Marius and Nadir took such good care of us and shared their passion for nature. We really shared very special moments together in the bush - thanks a lot for that’

We were also celebrating a special occasion, so Desmond (thank you so much!!) suggested to sleep one night in the Giraffes nest - a hut in the middle of nowhere were you can spend the night. The lodge provides you with everything you need there.
We spent the most magical night in the bush, felt completely safe and loved every second of it.

Tolles und sehr herzliches Personal, traumhafte Lodge/ Zimmer (ohne Zaun, dadurch mitten in der Natur und noch authentischeres Erlebnis), phantastisches Essen (ob Frühstück, Lunch oder Abendessen - alles wurde immer frisch zubereitet). Die Safaris mit Marius und Conny waren professionell und für uns rundum perfekt (wir haben hier die meisten Tiere und Pflanzen gesehen, obwohl wir noch in einer zweiten Lodge im Krüger übernachtet haben). Das Wissen der beiden war unglaublich und wir hätten ihnen noch Stunden lang zuhören können. Die Walking Safaris in der Früh sind wirklich einzigartig und ergänzen die Game Drives am Nachmittag perfekt! Vielen Dank für unser rundum perfektes Honeymoon-Safari Erlebnis!

Rustig verblijf, lekker eten, enorm vriendelijk personeel.

Wir behalten Motswari immer in guter Erinnerung. Kleine Gruppen bei den Safari-Touren und äußerst nettes Personal.
Auch das Essen inkl. Getränke ist von morgens bis abends herausragend.
Ganz tolles Erlebnis und wir kommen gerne wieder!

Our stay at the Motswari Retreat was amazing! The rooms were beautiful, so thoughtful decorated and well equipped, the meals were delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Desmond, the manager, is extremely friendly and was always going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Marius, our guide, and Erick, our tracker, were excellent as well and we appreciated how passionate and experienced they were. Our chef, Eva, and her team were fantastic and every meal was outstanding, especially the outdoor bonfire/grill night. We cannot say enough great things about the Motswari retreat!!

Marius and Erik were the best guides. We learnt so much from them in the walking safari. The staff is lovely. The retreat is divine and has a lovely relaxing area both by the pool and in a veranda.
I'd highly recommend you stay here for one night before checking in at their private game reserve for more game drives.

We spent 2 nights in Motswari Private Game Reserve and it was an unforgettable experience! Wonderful food, service, exclusivity and personal attention. Our ranger, Marius was exceptional and made every game drive and our walking safari unforgettable. His trackers, Elvis and Misha was just as amazing with their knowledge of the animals and the bush. We saw 3 of the 5 "big five" in just 1.5 days of being there, thanks to these guys. The food and service at the lodge was beyond our expectations in every way. I was a vegetarian and they catered for me with exceptional skill and charm. The food was really outstanding, thank you Glenda and team! Our other hosts, Desmond and MJ looked after every detail and made our stay wonderful. Our room was large, luxurious and comfortable. We each had a great massage too (thank you Lerato), in a space where you can watch giraffes walk by... The setting of this private lodge is amazing, you overlook a river with giraffes and elephants walking by. We even had a hyena come close to us while sitting around the camp fire - so special. This was a once in a life time experience and we hope to be back again soon!

Exceptional Safari Experience – Beyond Expectations!
Driving all the way from Skukuza through Kruger into the heart of Timbavati, Motswari exceeded every expectation. The lodge is stunning and set in a truly breathtaking location, but what really makes this place special is the staff. Rudolf and his team went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Their warmth, knowledge, and hospitality made us feel completely at home. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more – an absolutely unforgettable experience!
