Our first break of the year
Pros:

Breakfast was lovely, entertainment was brilliant, staff are friendly. Love the fact that the hotel is dog friendly, so our dog could have a holiday too..

Cons:

carpet needed a clean, very dusty around edges. bathroom was very cold, shower wasn't working when 1st arrived but corrected it quickly, public hairs found on shower head, had to clean it.. Tea and coffee terrible. Decor is dated in some areas but other areas looked good.. We have stayed before at this hotel and the room was better then, so a little disappointed.

Cheap & cheerful. Worth the money.
Pros:

Reception is large and bright and the receptionist very good. Friendly and helpful. There is a lift to all floors.

Bedroom was a good size with a good bed with nice clean linen. Two bedside cabinets both with lamps. A desk and two chairs, tele and wardrobe. Full length mirror. Hairdryer.

Shower room is also good size with a shower cubicle with a single headed shower. Toiletries and good towels provided. Clean, bright and warm.

Downstairs is a bar, restaurant and events room with Bingo and a ‘turn’ each night. Outside are gardens and a fee paying (£6pn) car park.

District is mostly hotels, b&b’s and houses. Quiet and safe. There is a chip shop, Chinese and pizza place within walking distance. Scarborough is about a fifteen minute walk.

Staff were mostly friendly and pleasant and helpful.

It was good value with breakfast. Everywhere clean enough. Warm and friendly.

Cons:

Minor complaints were the lift was filthy and I had to tell reception. If you are not with a Caledonian coach tour and haven’t booked an evening meal in advance you can’t eat!? An altercation with two young members of staff was dealt with when they apologised. Breakfast was mostly good. The sausages would probably struggle with the Products Containing Meat etc. (England) Regulations 2014! No designated vegetarian breakfast. No fruit or mushrooms with the breakfast.

Overall I thought it excellent value. It’s cheap and cheerful.

Fabulous location, friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Thank you.
Pros:

The location is brilliant and the room was comfortable and very reasonable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast.

Cons:

I was on the top floor and the room did smell as though it had been smoked in at some point. I don't know if this is the same on all floors or is historic but as a non smoker, it definitely a scent. If/when I stay again, I'd request a first or second floor room to test this out.
