The location is stunning.
The hotel is damp and poorly maintained, staff all over the place and really poor communication pre arrival. Water tap in room broken. Terrible shower. No coffee or refreshments refilled in room. No WiFi in bedroom, very weak in communal areas and no solution provided until night 3. Does not cater to families or children despite having a family room.
Beautiful location , nice room ,great staff and gorgeous food
Nothing to dislike
Super scenic, atmospheric and tranquil location. A lot of trouble has been taken by owner and staff to take things to the next level, all greatly appreciated.
Extremely helpful and accomodating staff.
EV charging (from 13A socket) very useful after next day's ferry service change meant an extra 75 mile drive than expected (and they let me stow my perishable shopping in their walk-in fridge).
Fixtures and fittings are getting a bit tired but everything worked it all adds to the 'traditional' charm!
The hotel was very peaceful and welcoming. The staff were very friendly. It is in a great location next to the loch and we appreciated that it was very dog friendly. Overall, we had an excellent stay. The cooked breakfast was great.
While the hotel is very charming and clean, certain public areas of the hotel are in need of a little updating. We booked a dbb package and feel that this should either not be offered as a package or that you should be able to receive at least 2 courses. £25 per head is allocated and it is really only possible to have a main course for this.
Beautiful peaceful and quiet location right on the banks of Loch Awe, with superb views. Staff were excellent and made ourselves and our dogs very welcome.
Although staff were attentive, we didn't receive any dog bowls on arrival and had to ask several times meaning our dogs were not fed on our 1st night until later than usual. Doggie sausages were mentioned on arrival but never offered despite being there for 2 nights. The hotel is a bit dated but nonetheless very comfortable and clean.
The location is excellent has spectacular views and a private carpark for several cars, we ate out so didn't get to experience their meals. The room was very spacious bright and dust free, very quiet, staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The 12 mile single track road getting too the property, the locals were patient behind us, but plenty of passing places, locals acknowledged us when we let them by, obviously the road is out of the hands of the hotel but if you don't like single track roads just be wary but plenty of passing places. Reading their paperwork they include a 12% tip you need to ask to have it removed, if you're working with a budget it might be worth noting.
Amazing staff, amazing food, amazing location.
WiFi struggled a bit but honestly nothing major!
This hotel is situated in a beautiful location overlooking Loch Awe. The location is so peaceful with amazing views and plenty of local walks.
In no particular order:
Full of character and peaceful.
Well appointed.
Very helpful staff and manager.
Good food: Breakfast & Dinner.
Stunning location on Loch Awe.
Very reasonable price given the high standards.
Overall 10/10.
No dislikes about Taychreggan.
The location is stunning with beautiful loch side grounds to explore. The staff were fabulous, very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and the food was plentiful and delicious.
The facilities were a little in need of a refresh but were still clean and comfortable and this didn’t spoil our stay
Amazing location, very nice service and all raken care of with eye for detail. A must-visit during your trip to Scotland!
Incredible location overlooking the water and surrounded by forestry.
Comfortable and clean throughout - and pet friendly too
Nothing. We absolutely loved our stay
The location of this hotel is just beautiful, it looks right down Loch Awa.
The food was amazing and the hotel was very pet friendly
Outside the staff quarters needs tidying up because it’s the first thing you see when you arrive .
The wine lists is to expensive for this standard of hotel
Our room was beautiful with an incredible view of the loch. The grounds are pretty and there are lots of little areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. The hotel itself has lovely sitting areas throughout and the food was very good. We will go back. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful. We were there in March and the weather wasn’t great but the hotel was cozy. The bed in our room was huge and comfortable, great shower- all in all a perfect stay.
There wasn’t anything not to like about this hotel.
The hotel was amazing. The surrounding were serene and beautiful. The room was warm, cosy, quiet and clean. Slept amazingly well and the staff were brilliant. Very attentive and friendly. They have a bar, restaurant, games room with snooker table and lounge on site as well.
There was nothing I didn't like. Would highly recommend.
The location on the Loch and it was dog friendly
Location and ambience.
Waiting staff need training. Very slow dinner service. Breakfast cooked dishes mostly had bacon but was told after ordering that there was no bacon. No suggestions offered for replacement. Didn’t get the items as displayed with no explanation.
