Beautiful building. The manager is excellent. Very available and responsive. We had a few questions throughout our stay, and I would say she was exceptional with her hospitality. Snacks too!
There is no pool or lounge at the building. The rooftop access is only for two of the rooms. This wasn’t clear to us when we booked, so we were a little disappointed.
Everything about the loft was luxurious and curated. The bed and the bedding were extremely comfortable. I loved all the little details like the espresso machine, and the snacks. The whole place was very clean and smelled fresh. The staff was friendly and very responsive and considerate. Will definitely return!

Decorating was very nice and the quality of the furniture and fixtures was very good.
Location to everything in town was the best, parking was available nearby.
Room was a good size but we were disappointed that the desk nook was only accessible from a 12’ ships ladder.
No real drawer storage for clothes and hanging space limited. Wouldn’t work for more than a couple nights stay.

This place is absolutely amazing. We are going to make it a Valentine’s Day tradition that we come here every year. We are going to try a different room next time. We were in Griffin‘s loft this time.
Thistledown is an exceptionally unique boutique hotel, you feel like you have transported to a different century in a different country! Comfortable beds and incredible decour! Snacks and Nespresso on the house, 6 Nespresso/guest/day! It is wonderfully located in the beautiful town of Hood River Oregon.
Thistledown on Oak is MAGNIFICENT!!! I knew Hood River was a great place and I recently got a chance to return with my wife and after some research I found Thistledown on Oak. It doesn't do it justice to describe it as a Hotel because it's more unique than that. The best way I can describe it is to imagine if you knew a celebrity and they gave you their luxury apartment to use while they were away. It has to be seen to be believed. We were fortunate enough to experience Griffin's Loft which is the smallest of the suites available and was amazing in itself but then we moved into the Penthouse for a few days.... OMG!!!
Do not expect a standard hotel experience. This is a far more unique property. You will never stay in a more beautiful and well equipped property. There is nothing bad to say about this place. It has to be seen to be believed!
Thistledown on Oak is by far one of the most unique and beautiful hotels we've stayed in! We were in awe from the moment we walked in. The attention to detail and design is exceptional.
Our room was stunning! They truly thought of Everything when designing and also with giving their guests the absolute best experience!
This is an amazing gem in the middle of Hood River. The room is unique and very functional. Bed is very comfortable, and adjustable for the perfect sleep experience. Complimentary snacks and beverages as well as an espresso machine in the room. The host are responsive to any questions.
Excellent accommodation
“Unique” is an insufficient description for Thistledown. The hotel is over-the-top fabulous. The thematic decor provides visual candy at every turn. Yet modern amenities such as an adjustable bed, power curtains, power skylight shades and more are part of the vintage decor. The hot water takes some time to get running but they warn you about that. Fun place; highly recommended!
