Would not recommend this homestay.
Pros:

Breakfast was served. Poor.

Cons:

The mattress was terrible. They offered to change it with another one from one of the other rooms. The mattresses were all the same. You feel the coil springs. We ended up flipping the mattress over and it was a little bit better. Still feel the coil springs but a little more padding on the mattress. If I had read poor bed(mattress) I would not have booked this hotel.

The host was too good to attend the guests with any kind of requirements. Breakfast was complementary and customised as per our ask.

Not recommending the property for others to stay
Cons:

Overpriced. Filthy pillows and bedsheets. Hot water wasn’t hot enough. We repeatedly asked the owner to replace pillows and pillow covers but he did not respond. It triggered asthma for us. Towels were torn and dirty.

Peaceful and comfortable stay.
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at Bay Walk Residency. The rooms were clean and tidy, making our stay comfortable. The staff were extremely nice and cordial, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel’s location is strategic, especially for those planning to visit Matrimandir, which is easily accessible from here. The complimentary breakfast served was good and added to the overall pleasant experience. The Malgudi Days outlet next to the facility serves good vegetarian food.. Highly recommended for a peaceful and convenient stay in Pondicherry!

Cons:

All the rooms in the facility are located in 1st floor.. So older people and people with mobility issues (like my son who cant walk much) will have a difficult time ascending and descending the stairs.. But for this issue, the facility if really good.
