It was so peaceful
Shower was blocked but water was good and hot
We had a very good stay at this Lodge! We were travelling off season so we had the whole place basically to ourselves. We came to relax and it was perfect 😊 The food is good - you get a menu to choose from. For dinner it is a three-course meal and for breakfast you choose one meal. Tea and instant coffee included, while they have a small buffet with cornflakes and juice.
They offer safaris and other activities but we chose to not do any.
The staff were excellent and answered very quickly on WhatsApp if we needed anything. The chalets very big and comfortable. It was so quiet and the windows had blinds that made it dark. We had the best nights of sleep!
They also arranged comfortable airport transfers to and from Bulawayo for 120$ (2 people, both ways).
The lightning had taken the electricity so we did not have electricity in the power outlets, wifi or hot water whenever. This is not their fault of course, but is one of the reasons why not given 10/10. They had a generator they turn on at the evenings so we could charge and use the wifi.
They also didn’t have everything on the menu at all times. This did not bother us but also a reason for not giving 10/10.
I was with my partner and we enjoyed the peacefulness. Breakfast was amazing. The property and surrounding areas were breathtaking.
Beautiful location in the midst of Matobo. Staff treated us well and the lodging was clean. No issues with electricity or internet, and a nice restaurant.
Not necessarily a negative, but lodging is somewhat dated and rustic while still well-kept.
The staff at the Matopo Ingwe Lodge are some of the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered. They go out of their way to assist. The breakfast is absolutely excellent, and so are the dinners—delicious, carefully prepared, and no effort is spared. Thanks to Starlink, there is excellent Wi-Fi available in the chalets where one sleeps, as well as in the restaurant and bar. The place is in the African bush, and during the night it is completely quiet with only the sounds of the bush to be heard. It is also very safe.
The chalets are very clean and tidy, but offer only the basics. Don’t expect a very luxurious place—especially the bathroom is quite basic. However, everything is very clean and neat.
