Good food in a very nice setting

Our stay at this hotel in Shangri-La was truly memorable, thanks to the incredibly kind and helpful hosts, Liu Liu and Xiao Zhou, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home.

From the moment we arrived, their excellent service was evident. They provided complimentary pick-up and drop-off at the train station, which made our journey so much smoother. We were also warmly welcomed with thoughtful gifts, a gesture that immediately made us feel cared for.

One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious home-cooked breakfast prepared each morning — hearty, comforting, and a perfect start to the day in the cool Shangri-La weather.

What really stood out was their attention to detail. After a long day of sightseeing, we returned to find that they had already turned on the heater in our room, ensuring a warm and cozy environment for us to relax in. Xiao Zhou also brought us warm milk before bedtime which was truly awesome!

It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shangri-La and would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfect

Nice decor- very welcoming- staff went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are quite nice - underfloor heating and a heater if needed. We had two rooms - ours had a large bathtub in it. My children’s room - directly below us just had a shower room.
The beds were super comfy. Breakfast was super. No choices however. If you are vegetarian you must warm in advance as there is meat served at breakfast. The dining space is pretty cool. There was lots of fresh fruit and water provided in every room. It’s a five minute walk to the main town square. At the end of our stay we were given a lift to the train. Station - about 10 mins away.

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. The hotel felt incredibly cozy and welcoming from the very first moment. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable – they were exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and always ready to help.

Every morning we were treated to a delicious, fresh breakfast, and in the evenings they even brought us warm milk, which was such a sweet and caring gesture. They also kindly drove us to the train today, which we truly appreciated.

It’s rare to experience such genuine hospitality. We felt very well taken care of throughout our stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you so much for everything!

We had such a lovely stay in Shangri-La 🙏From the warm welcome gift (a thoughtful fridge magnet & few keytags) to the tea, biscuits and pastries on arrival, every detail was so special. We loved being able to choose our body wash scent and breakfast the next morning was absolutely amazing.

The hosts truly went above and beyond💗, even helping take us to the airport for our early flight, which we really appreciated.

Had such a great stay at this hotel! The breakfast was really good with a nice variety, and everything tasted fresh. What stood out the most was the service — the staff were super friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile.
They even went the extra mile by serving us tea and fruits, which was such a thoughtful touch. You can really feel that they genuinely care about their guests and are willing to go out of their way to help.
Really appreciate the hospitality here. Would definitely come back again!

The location is great.

We had a very nice stay at Karesansui. The hotel location is perfect, and the staff is excellent. They helped us a lot during our stay. They arranged a hiking tour with private guide and also gave us very nice recommendations. Breakfast was excellent. The room was very nice, well designed and warm. I strongly recommend you to stay at Karesansui for your stay in Shangri-La!

The hosts are exceptionally warm and hospitable. Liu Liu and her husband prepared the best breakfast for us in all the 10 days in Yunnan, and for that, we are eternally grateful to them. The room is also fabulous to say simply especially the heated floor. Everything is perfect. We couldn’t stop raving about this accomodation to our friends. The hotel is also a short walk to the ancient town. Thank you to the hosts. Highly recommended!

The owner/staff is exceptionally polite, helpful and nice. They always go extra mile to make us feel comfortable and home.

I like the atmosphere because it has a nice feelling. There is also a very cute dog that is very friendly.

The breakfast room and the welcome area were quite lovely. The entire complex and the sunroom were real highlights. Our room was very spacious and well appointed.
