Unacceptable conditions, water outage and broken window insulation. Avoid!

Our stay during the European Ballet Championships was a nightmare. On Wednesday, the entire hotel suffered a total water outage for over 15 hours. The hotel was completely unlivable: no shower, no working taps, and toilets could not be flushed. The front desk had no solution and only gave us 5 small 0.5L water bottles, which was a joke for basic sanitation. We had to cross the river to businesses nearby just to find a working toilet. On top of that, the window insulation was completely broken, leaving a physical gap when closed. This caused freezing cold drafts and let unbearable street/concert noise straight inside, making it impossible to sleep. Management completely ignored our written complaints. Do not stay here.

Zentrale Lage, doch Ausstattung, Komfort und Frühstück enttäuschen

Das Hotel Stone Bridge punktet vor allem durch seine hervorragende Lage direkt an der historischen Steinbrücke im Zentrum Skopjes. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten wie der Makedonien Platz, der Old Bazar, das Mazedonische Tor, das Mazedonisches Nationaltheater, das Mutter‑Teresa‑Gedenkhaus sowie das Stadtmuseum (ehemaliger Bahnhof) sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar.

Der Service an der Rezeption war freundlich und rund um die Uhr verfügbar, der Check in und Check out verlief reibungslos.

Cons:

Unser Superior Zimmer mit Stadtblick war grundsätzlich komfortabel, jedoch deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Teppichböden wirken hygienisch fragwürdig, die Ausstattung entspricht eher einer landestypischen 5 Sterne Kategorie als internationalem Standard. Die Schallisolierung der Fenster war unzureichend, sodass nachts Hundegebell und morgens Straßenlärm zu hören waren. Das Bett war groß und bequem. Das Badezimmer war funktional, aber sehr spärlich ausgestattet (nur Body Wash Spender, keine Handseife, keine Gläser). Die Klimaanlage ließ sich leider nicht regulieren und es kam nur heiße Luft aus der Klimaanlage, obwohl es draußen angenehm warm war. Die tägliche Zimmerreinigung war zuverlässig.

Der Frühstücksraum bietet eine schöne Aussicht, jedoch war das Frühstück enttäuschend: sehr geringe Auswahl, kaum nachgefüllt, teilweise defekte Kaffeemaschine und bereits zu Öffnungsbeginn kalte warme Speisen. Für ein 5 Sterne Hotel absolut unzureichend. Die Bar im Frühstücksbereich war abends geschlossen, was ebenfalls nicht dem Anspruch eines Luxushotels entspricht.

Insgesamt punktet das Hotel mit seiner hervorragenden Lage, allerdings müssen Gäste bei Ausstattung, Komfort und Service deutliche Abstriche in Kauf nehmen.

We could tolerate the bad as the location was perfect.

The hotel is ‘tired’. Could use an update. The restaurant was closed so we couldn’t get a meal or drink, only breakfast in the morning.

Cons:

Quarto: faltando toalhas na entrada do quarto. Cofre travado e sem instruções de uso. Jogos de cama com cheiro de cigarro. O quarto todo cheirava cigarro.
Café da manha sem poções de frutas, pão seco impossível de comer tivemos que apelar para o pão industrializado. O local disponibilizado para que os hospedes se servissem era tudo muito junto fazendo com que ficasse uma confusão de hospedes e filas. As coisas não eram repostas. Um único funcionário para fazer todo o trabalho de limpeza das mesas, lavagem de louças, tendo situação em que hospedes tiveram que utilizar mesa com restos de pratos e xícaras de outros hospedes para poderem tomar seu café da manha. Ou seja o hotel não pode ser enquadrado como 4 estrelas. No máximo 3 e precisa melhorar muito.
