The property is located in a beautiful spot, with a nearby lake. The building is stunning and the history behind it adds to the stay. The spa was clean and well presented, with modern decor.
This isn’t a reflection on the property itself, but there were a lot of flies outside when drinking which made us move inside to eat. Unfortunately, flies were still there. Although I’m aware this beyond the comfort of the hotel, possibly some fly traps or citronella nearby would help.
Location, history and the huge room!
Only the smoked salmon at breakfast. Everything was excellent
Luxury, peaceful, immaculate service. An absolute delight
It was just utter luxury from the moment we arrived - calm, peaceful and effortlessly beautiful everywhere you look.
Nothing - loved it!
Peaceful location, large rooms, spa was very good
Let's start with no air conditioning, which these days is a minimum expectation. Worse still the windows are restricted from opening more than a few inches. The breakfast was average and inconsistent (one day menu and table service, the next not). Brasserie food very mediocre. It felt, with the exception of the spa, underinvested in.
Stunning location and great spa. Taster menu was excellent and the staff incredibly friendly
Our room didn’t have aircon which probably wouldn’t usually be a problem - we were there in the heat wave. The staff provided extra fans
Historic buildings. Beautiful gardens. Friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable but at this price point I was expecting more luxury.
Loved the surroundings. The staff were all lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful house in fabulous grounds
Food was excellent
