Central Hotel Golders Green

Hotel is run down, paint flaking off the walls, cracked glass, clear little / no maintenance is being done. The reception desk is never manned, meaning you are always phoning them if any assistance is required.
The actual rooms were dirty, previous occupants clothes still present (a sock on the wardrobe...) smashed plaster on wall by room, black mould present in the bathroom, bathroom fans blocked with dirt. Photos provided.
In the booking we asked for 2 rooms close together as staying with teenagers, this wasn't honoured but when we asked on arrival an attempt was made giving us rooms 24 and 25. However room 24 hadn't had the key returned by the previous occupied, but we were assured we'd have it when we left. Come that time, still no key so we were promised it'd be there when we returned after visiting London. Once again, it was not there, however we were assured we could still use the room as it "Locked from the inside". Ignoring the fact it also unlocked form the outside. The key for room 24, including a front door key to the hotel was not returned during our stay.
The hotel had apparently argued with the "abusive" previous occupier and blocked them. As a result we did not feel conformable using the second room, that occupier could have retuned at any point and left themselves in.
At this point we were not offered an alternative room.
This resulted in a very uncomfortable night with with 4 people in a triple room, with one of us sleeping on the floor. We pointed this out the following morning (by phone as the reception desk was not manned once again) and we were promised a refund for the second room. After chasing for this refund for 2 weeks it was eventually declined and told a reason for the change of mind was emailed to me. Shockingly, no email has been received.
The road passing the hotel appears to be a "Boy racer" hotspot with very little quiet.
This hotel is a big avoid even at a budget rate.

Trainers went missing

Prisen kommer av at hotellet kunne trengt en oppussing. Men det var vi klar over når vi booket hos inn. Reiser på økonomi så er dette et godt alternativ.

The room was unclean, scruffy, smashed windows, rusty shower fittings, broken shower head, filthy pillows with no pillow case, smoke detector covered with plastic bags. Would avoid at all costs.

It was dirty

Erm. Staff unwilling to come and check you in. Have to call a mobile to get anybody to let you in and give you keys. When I say staff. It’s one poor young lady. I have no issue with her at all. Perhaps if there were two people sharing reception duties…

Leads to next issue. Rooms were not clean, not because of lack of effort. Just a lack of staff. Also. Punch holes in walls don’t look too good.,

Nothing we did not stay we saw room and left was mouldy and black mould everywhere

Dirty, unsafe, no handles to close window, had to tie a metal wire to radiator and a chair, walls covered in mould and flies, ripped dirty net curtains carpet stinking and growing cannabis which can be seen clearly in windows as well as the smell

Je déconseille fortement, nous avons attendu bien 45min avant que le personnel arrive alors que la personne était dans sa chambre entrain de dormir, les salles communes étaient salles, le pomau de douche casse rien n’allait

Dirty, false photographs, rude staff

Rooms were filled with insects, shower wasn’t working, no fridge or microwave in any of the rooms I booked, bathtub was dirty.
