The staff were very friendly and helpful. The penthouse was spacious and pleasant overall. However, the toilet bowl in the upper bedroom could have been cleaner.
- Amazing staff, helpful and always available.
- Location: walking distance to Chinatown. About 20 minutes walking to Ipoh Old Town.
- Rooms are large and aesthetically pleasing. It seems that either I got a good one or they're renovating little by little.
- Lighting in the room is good. Large windows, but has blind-out curtains.
- There's a fridge, an electric kettle, and a microwave.
- Large bed and multiple pillows.
- Good white coffee and tea.
Ok, not great:
- Desk area not very comfortable.
- Fridge is small, fits only one 1.5L bottle. The small bottles of water they leave in the room don't even fit in the door.
- There are no utensils nor plates or bowls. Makes the microwave useless for reheating because 80% of the time your food, especially liquids, will come in bags.
- Bed is kind of hard. Also wide, but a tad short. At 1.82m / 6ft my feet were dangling out of bed; had to sleep on a diagonal.
The internet was beyond bad, it was ABYSMAL. Not just worst speed I had in multiple years of travels across multiple continents, but frequent disconnects too. You can't watch even an Insta video, or a YouTube short without it stopping and waiting to reconnect every few seconds.
This is in sharp contract with almost everywhere else in Malaysia having 100-600 Mbps speeds and this hotel is barely reaching 4 Mbps on a good day, and only for a few seconds.
I notified front-desk but nothing came out of it. I want to give them some leeway for being CNY, but there are other reviews complaining about it, so I'm guessing they're just not doing anything about it.
If you need internet, avoid this place. I couldn't even get good cell signal to use my phone as a hot spot.
Huge, comfortable room. Very quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Bathroom was huge and shower was superb 👍 Couldn't fault it 💯
Location is strategic for those require to go to menara ssi and rhb. Its relax and walk in distance only.

Good location - about 15 minute walk away from Concubine lane. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
