The staff at this hotel were really lovely, they went out of their way to be helpful to us. Excellent service, and a very comfortable place to stay. We loved the Sri Lankan breakfasts too.

This is approximately a three-star hotel, but it offers service comparable to a five-star standard. The hotel is very close to the Cave Temple and can be easily reached on foot. Although it's located less than 3 kilometers from the city center and there aren’t many restaurants nearby, there are plenty of small supermarkets and shops for daily necessities. A tuk-tuk ride to the city center costs around 500 Sri Lankan Rupees, so the location isn’t really an issue.

The hotel room and bathroom are both very clean, with only minor hygiene issues that are acceptable. The only drawback is that the air conditioner is a bit noisy, but since we were quite tired from traveling, it didn’t affect our sleep. Additionally, the hot water in the shower is not very stable—most of the time it’s cold. However, given Sri Lanka’s warm climate, a cold shower is actually quite refreshing, so this wasn’t a major concern for us.

The room was very comfortable. Personnel very helpful and the breakfast-tradicional and delicious.g

The room is little bit small but it includes everything, first there were no WiFi connection but they fixed it and provide the facility immediately, I recommend this place to everyone specially for families, this hotel is near to Dambulla temple.

Alles super sauber. Prima Klima. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Tolle Pflanze im und rund um das Haus man merkt die Pflanzenliebe hier im Haus.
Um das Hotel herum gibt es eine Bäckerei und kleiner Laden für Getränke, ggf. auch gleich eine Werkstatt für Tuktuks gegenüber.
Das Hotel ist vom Zentrum mit dem Tuktuk 5 min. entfernt, dort kann man essen und shoppen.

Even before we arrived in Sri Lanka, Golden Stars Hotel Dambulla provided exceptional service, helping us coordinate our travel experiences and trips. They arranged our car and transportation from the airport, organised a tour guide to take us to all our different sites, and even arranged our entry tickets and local guides, making everything completely stress free from the start.

We stayed in the family house, which was incredibly clean, very spacious, and had extremely comfortable beds. The air conditioning was excellent, and the whole property felt new and freshly renovated. This is easily one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Sri Lanka and without a doubt, it has the best hosts we have ever experienced anywhere.

Their kindness and support went far beyond what anyone could expect from a hotel. During our trip, my daughter fell ill while we were away from the property. The hotel immediately contacted us to check if we were okay, arranged for the local medical centre to receive us, and had a doctor waiting upon our arrival. They even brought us lunch while we were at the hospital. They offered to cover our medical and hospital bills, which we of course insisted on paying ourselves.

Because of the illness, we had to completely rearrange our itinerary, and the hotel stepped in to help reorganise everything seamlessly. Particular thanks to Nuwanthi, Bandara, Pasindu, who were always available, attentive, and supportive. Pasindu even accompanied us on a trip, took us to the hospital, and stayed with us until we got home to ensure we were well looked after.

This level of care, compassion, and dedication is exceptionally rare. The whole team treated us not just as guests, but like family. We left feeling deeply grateful for their hospitality.

Как они заботились о нас, помогали с вещами, при заезде угостили ледяным манговым соком, это было очень кстати! На завтрак было просто волшебно - он очень вкусный, сытный, нашлось что поесть и нам, и ребёнку, нас встретили с потрясающей красоты цветами! От души большое спасибо за такой сервис, в этом отеле люди делают для него 5 звёзд 👍

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Very comfortable beds, air conditioning with dehumidifier mode, and a peaceful, quiet atmosphere.
The breakfast is big, very tasty, and typically Sri Lankan, with options to customize.
The staff is lovely.

Golden stars staff were incredibly accommodating with every need. We arrived very early and they gave us somewhere to wait while the room was being cleaned. The hotel is close to small stores and restaurants and 10 minute walk to the Dambulla Cave and Temple entrance. It’s really easy to arrange taxi and safari and Bandara from the hotel helped arrange for us. Recommend get elephant safari with Krishanta who was very good and friendly. The food was delicious and catered to our needs including changing the breakfast and preparing dinner when we asked. The room was large, very clean and had A/C that worked.
