Great location.
Great location but this hotel is very tired looking throughout.
Having been charged a huge £300 for room only basis for 1 night, we expected so much more.
Whilst the room (#305) was clean with a comfortable bed, it was in need of general redecorating, painting and bathroom sealing etc. Mirror and wall socket locations need a rethink if you want to dry your hair etc. in front of a mirror, and not even the usual USB sockets for mobile charging you see in all modern hotels now, so bring your own wall plugs!
The bar below looks Ok but on the night we visited, was dirty, and unkempt, the person serving was indifferent to us and unwelcoming and the cocktails served were awful (I ordered a simple Old Fashioned and could barely taste the whiskey is was that weak).
El restaurante estaba muy bien , comida buena y platos generosos, ademas nos sirvieron rápido. Tienen mucha variedad de whisky y el servicio fue bueno. Los dos chicos que nos atendieron en la recepción fueron muy amables. La ubicación excelente. La cama cómoda. Baño amplio.
La habitación pequeña, el baño no tenia ventilación al igual que la habitación. No se podían abrir las ventanas y ademas hacia calor.
The location is great, just off the main street so it’s not too crazy. The room was spacious and comfy. We ate at the cozy restaurant and the drinks and food were excellent (mac & cheese, meat pie). The photos of all the famous Scots around the hotel are a nice touch.
We didn’t have much interaction with the staff, they seemed busy. But they weren’t unfriendly either.

Located in a great area, lovely room, loved the portraits everywhere of famous Scottish people. We loved the Tunnocks Teacake ! What a nice touch .

The temperature in the room was like a sauna with one tiny fan. The room was cramped and the bed tiny. The bathroom was small and dated. For the price that was paid it was extremely disappointing. In the evening we asked staff where we could get food and they all looked blankly at each other. On leaving nobody asked how our stay was and couldn't care less when we did give feedback. Won't return.

The location is perfect, and the bed was so comfortable I actually slept all night without waking once the whole time we stayed! The breakfasts were superb and the Sunday lunch was exceptional. Also staff member Helena was brilliant! She is so lovely, friendly and professional - a real asset to the hotel. Thank you Helena for everything you did for us.
There wssn't much shelving in the bathroom to put our toiletries
The hotel is in a great location just off Princes Street and a short walk from the station. The decor is modern with lots of photos of Scottish celebrities. The bedrooms were also named after a celebrity. Our bedroom was comfortable and very clean. A little tight on space but we were only there one night. The bar area is really nice and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Edinburgh Castle, die Scottish National Gallery oder die Royal Mile kann man zu Fuß erreichen. Statt eines Frühstücksbüffets konnte man sich Frühstück a la carte bestellen, welches dann frisch zubereitet wurde. Das Konzept, die Zimmer nach schottischen bekannten Persönlichkeiten zu benennen, hat uns gut gefallen.
