Wonderful location high up away from the tourists in valley. Fantastic breakfast. Dinner good but expensive but great view. There is a cheaper restaurant 5 mins walk away but food very average. Host great at communication and attention to detail. We loved our stay here
Amazing and unique location. The house is so pretty and the view from the terrace where we have breakfast at is just stunning. The location is very handy for walks to Bulnes and the Ruta del Cares. And it is so nice to be able to stay in rustic location but with proper high pressure hot water.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Maru in late May and this picturesque B&B was the highlight of our trip! Jhousy is kind and helpful ... and her hospitality is off the charts. Breakfasts are absolute perfection (make sure you have at least one dinner there as well). This is the perfect location to base your adventures, or even to simply get off the grid to relax in nature.
Incredible views, food and host.
We had problems with our car and were given so much help from our host including a lift into a nearby town and over 20 mins on the phone to our rental company as I don't speak Spanish.
This is a unique place to stay and in prime position if you want to do the gorge walk.
We had an amazing stay at Casa Maru for 2 nights. The host Jhousy was great - she was very kind, made us feel very welcome, cooked a delicious dinner for us and gave us really great recommendations for walks/ activities/ food. Breakfast (again prepared by Jhousy) was also great - by far the best we had on our trip. The attention to detail and effort put in to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible was also very obvious. The house itself is in an incredible location with incredible views over the Picos and we had the pleasure of watching vultures and eagles flying over the adjacent valley while having breakfast. I couldn't recommend highly enough.
The drive up does involve lots of hairpin bends and is very steep so not for the faint-hearted but was completely worth it.
There are two things that make this place wonderful: Josie and the location of Casa Maru. Josie is such a warm, kind, interesting person, and her breakfasts are beyond spectacular. This was really one of the best breakfasts I have had anywhere. Josie was just such a delight to talk to as well.
The house itself is in a tiny village up the hill from where all the tourists are. When the weather is clear, there are perfect views of the mountains. Waking up the next day I was in awe at how amazingl the views were.
I am so glad we stayed here. This was really one of the best decisions of our trip.
I. can't think of anything. I wasn't a huge fan of the restaurant in the village, but that has nothing to do with Casa Maru.
