Clean and modern hotel in a good location.
Pros:

Outside of the most touristy bits of Kyoto - which meant it was quiet and less crowded. But close enough to walk to some areas or get the train. Hotel was modern and clean with nice onsen available.

Traditional Japanese house coupled with modern 10-storey building & excellent location in the center of the city
Pros:

The feeling of living in a traditional Japanese house with all the modern confort (rooms in the 10 storey modern part of the hotel).
The location in the center of the city (easy to go everywhere, lively neighbourhood and not packed with tourists in this area)

Pros:

I stayed here alone in March, and loved it so much i extended my stay by another day.

The location is central to everything and yet, very quiet. It's located just off a main street with a traditional guesthouse exterior. I loved staying here, the staff can all speak English and they have lots of recommendations. The hotel has chargers and umbrella you can borrow, and the onsen is almost always empty.

Cons:

I was located on the first floor and could hear pipe sounds every so often. Though it only really matters if you're a light sleeper.

Watch you head when you enter the hotel
Pros:

Location is great, close to the center of Kyoto in a small quiet street.

Spa for men is nice and clean.

Cons:

- room cleaning is not every day, to be exact you have to ask for it via a TV in your room every time you want it. It’s not possible to choose “clean my room every day”.

- when you are entering the hotel through an old house (beautiful btw.) you have to bow your head 5 times every time you go in or out of the hotel.

- there is no place to hang your wet towel in the room.

- the hotel is open, so when you leave your room you are out in the cold (now it’s 10.3. and it’s 0 celsius).

Skip the breakfast option and have a meal somewhere else, there are a bunch of places near by.

Der Eingang befindet sich in eine traditionellen japanischen Haus, in dem sich auch die Bibliothek, sowie die Bar befindet. Im Hinterhof grenzt dann der Hotelkomplex an.
Toller Onsen, sehr bequeme Betten und ein großes Zimmer. Lage sehr zentral

Cons:

Hier und da etwas staubig auch nach Reinigung.

Charming hotel with a lot of character
Pros:

Lovely mix of historical building and modern rooms. There was an onsen that was small but very nice. Location is excellent near to boutique stores and coffee shops. Rooms were a good size for Japan.

Fantastic stay.
Pros:

Staff went about and beyond, welcomed us with drinks for our honeymoon and made a handwritten card for us. Room was super comfy and had great facilities like a bath, was super warm and comfy. Free drinks in reception and fridge was a nice touch too.

Cons:

Nothing really, the hotel was a little further out than expected, but still good, would be nice to have the option of a Western breakfast as well as a Japanese one.

Lovely stay!
Pros:

Lovely room, very comfortable bed, beautiful and very clean onsen bath facilities

Cons:

Little bit out of the way from some of the places we wanted to visit, but good train connections nearby.
