Great location with access to the racecourse ( park & ride to watch music at Powderham Castle ). Comfy beds and lovely breakfast.

Location handy for M5 and Powderham castle. Breakfast was decent and staff at breakfast friendly. There is ample parking.
Shower worked. Kettle in room. Towels clean.
On arrival, the receptionist was quite surly and unhelpful when I asked a normal question. They also told us they couldn't organise a taxi for us...something hotels should be able to do. This is not a hotel, it's a 'motel' off an a-road. It has no extra facilities or services whatsoever.
The twin room cost £150 for one night, so we were quite shocked to see how small and gloomy it was. It was really hot in there and there was an unpleasant smell like sour milk in the room, which we couldn't get rid of because the window only opened 2 inches. The water in the bathroom was cut-off about midnight, and we couldn't flush the toilet or use the taps. One of the bedside lamps was not plugged in, because there were no sockets, so we wondered what was the point of even having it there. There is some traffic noise from the A road in the morning. Neither of us slept well. Wifi has a weaker signal than 4G. £150 is a shocking price.

Very convenient and great value for money. Staff really helpful. We also left an Apple mac charger and the team found it and arranged for it to be sent back to us. They went above and beyond

Bungalow style hotel in a beautiful peaceful location
The bedrooms need air conditioning to bring it into modern times, bathrooms are very modern, bedrooms could do with an upgrade
We stayed here for a concert so was really just there for a few hours. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely and the staff we good.
The only thing I didn’t like was that our room was by a moan road so could hear traffic all night.

Standards are slipping, not as clean as previous visits. Food not as good either.
Welcoming reception. Nice clean room with large fan which was a huge bonus on a hot summer night. Excellent food in restaurant with a very good manager and team. Breakfast equally good. Third overnight stay here.
