Very friendly, value-for-money, small hotel with beautiful garden.
Pros:

Unlike every other hotel I viewed in Maputo, the Malagueta Inn has a lovely garden. It surrounds a small swimming pool and here one can just lounge around or take one's meals. These can be prepared in the communal kitchen or brought from one of the numerous eateries round about. The host Miguel, and his right-hand-man, Martino,will go out of their way to welcome guests and help with any issues such as where to buy a sim card, where is the closest bank, how does one order a taxi etc., etc.. The Malagueta Inn II (there is also a Malagueta Inn I, much smaller on the Rua 24 de Julho) is ideally located on a quiet street, close to the Hospital Central, between Avenida Agostino Neto and Avenida Mao Tse Tung, a 10 minute walk from the Avenida Friedrich Engels that provides a wonderful sea view, the whole way along. Walk a bit further and you come to a long promenade right along the sea shore. Down below the Avenida Friedrich Engels is another very interesting area, the Marginal also with sea-shore walks and some really posh hotels.

Definitely recommend!
Pros:

Malagueta is a beautiful place with nice decor and a great area to rest by the little pool. Its in a really nice area of Maputo, e.g. in walking distance to the Faime Market. There's even a little communal kitchen. Everything is very clean and neat.
Miguel is a wonderful host who will help you with anything you might need. Will definitely stay here again if we ever need a place in Maputo!
