De trap naarde kamers op de eerste etage is krap en niet echt hamdig. Het hotel zelf is duidelijk oud en niet berekend op lange mensen en hoge temperaturen. Wegens valgevaar zijn alle ramen maar 10cm te openen wat met warm weer niet prettig is. Het dekbed op bed was zeer dik dus het eerste wat je doet is deze verwijderen uit de hoes.( kamer temperatuur was rond de 30graden) Daarnaast lagen er per persoon 3 extra sierkussen op het bed, ziet er mooi uit maar is erg onpraktisch. De jabo vloerbedekking is hard en niet fijn aan de blote voeten. Ontbijt is keuze ontbijt dat men zelf aan n bar moet gaan bestellen. Dit kan ook door gasten van buiten worden gedaan waardoor je als hotelgast soms lang moet wachten. Onze tweede dag wilden we vanwege de goede keuken hier weer eten in de avond. Door ( warmte) overmacht bleek aan t begin van de avond dat de keuken door stroomstoring niet werkte. Hele dorp had last van de storing. Ze konden wel n borrelplant voor ons maken. Uit nood hebben we later nog n tweede borrelplank genomen omdat er niets anders te eten was en we niet meer ( wijn en bier gedronken) ergens anders heen konden. De volgende ochtend bij vertrek en afrekenen bleek dat voor iedere borrelplank £35 voor gerekend moest worden. Dat vonden ze na protest van ons toch ook wel wat duur dus werd er 25£ voor gerekend. We voelden ons als hotelgasten, ook bij het ontbijt, niet echt als gast behandeld maar meer als klant. Hotel is niet ingesteld op warm weer. Wellicht in de (warmere) toekomst iets om rekening mee te houden.

Room was dusty on ledges and crevices etc (appreciate this is set in the country but this was accumulated dust). Stairs to the rooms are steep: people with mobility issues will struggle perhaps.

We arrived at 8.35 - and kitchen closed at 8.45 so quickly ordered food , but chef must have been in a rush as one meat wasn’t cooked & had to send back.
The room was nice but was above bar or restaurant area which played music with a base beat that we could hear in our room.
All clean to eye level - but the beams etc were dusty with cobwebs.

Although a feature of the old building, the stairs to the bedrooms were very narrow windy and quite steep. Not ideal for a pair of 80-year-olds!

No full English breakfast available to hotel guests so we checked out and had breakfast elsewhere appreciate its more work for only a few rooms but the it makes the whole stay after such wonderful lunch and dinner options.

We paid for a standard room 20sqm but on arrival were given a tiny tiny room of no more than 12/14sqm. There are only 4 rooms so had no choice but to accept as no other accommodation available locally and had a wedding to attend.
Seriously unamused as could not walk around the bed the room was so small and had to be a contortionist to use the shower and loo if you shut the door.
Only bread rolls and pastries for breakfast - nothing resembling healthy
13.5 tog duvet in the summer, it was 30 C outside - seriously!!

No food and drink service was available after 5pm on the Sunday and 8pm on Monday. The staff had all left the premises and left me a front door key and a phone number if I had any issues. The lack of access to even a drink was pretty poor.

We stayed over a very hot couple of nights and the room/bedding was too hot.
