Lovely area!
Pros:

Beautiful old house in the heart of Grasmere. Lovely lounge area and garden for relaxing after a days exploration.

Staff very attentive and helpful.

Cons:

I stayed in a single room which was an adequate size wise. However, mattress and bed base were mismatched, the mattress being far smaller than the base itself.

Shower was also pretty small with very little pressure. Not a big issue for me, but would be for some.

Excellent staff, super location.

Cons:

When we booked,on the hotel website,we requested evening meal on the Wednesday. When Wednesday arrived we were told there was no evening meals owing to a problem in the kitchen and had to go to another hotel/restaurant.

Nice hotel that gave me a comfortable stay.

Great location, comfortable room,

Cons:

Breakfast was tasty but small portions. I didn't want sausage on my cooked breakfast but thought I may have been given more of something else. They had also ran out of one item. However, there was a reasonable choice of other things . They were also unable to provide evening meals on my visit due to staff shortage.

Exactly what we from a classic Lakeland country house hotel!
Pros:

Classic Lakeland country house hotel for trip with friends who were first time visitors to Lakes. Ticked all the boxes in terms of comfort and presentation of rooms, lovely, friendly owners & staff, and had a relaxed evening meal in bar & restaurant.

A gem of a place to stay in the heart of Grasmere
Pros:

Super central location in the heart of Grasmere. Lovely spacious hotel with very comfortable communal lounge/bar area and garden with plenty of seating options. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food, both at dinner and breakfast - really tasty.
