Beautiful hotel on Broadgate, Grasmere
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent, offering luxury items such as smoked trout. Friendly welcoming staff, spotlessly clean rooms, lovely bathroom.

Cons:

No lifts meant a stair climb to reach room, but to be expected as it is an old building. Everything else was fine.

Great location for hiking/walking. Lots to choose from right on the doorstep.
Pros:

Perfect location for our one night stay as we were walking the Grasmere 3 peaks and this place was ideal. Plenty of other things to do right on the doorstep, including shops, bars and restaurants but unfortunately on this occasion we didn't manage much else after the walk so would definitely love to return and explore more.. Lovely hotel bar that was overlooking the beautiful garden was a fantastic place to unwind.. Rooms were exceptionally clean, bed was very, very comfortable and it had a great shower. Good breakfast too! Lovely staff on arrival and throughout our stay. Would highly recommend and very likely to return. Great stay, Thank you!

Overall a bit average. The bathroom in the room was very old and could do with a revamp.
Pros:

The breakfast was fine, pretty standard.

Very disappointing that the bar in the lounge was not open in the night time. It was very limited times

Pros:

Very helpful at check in, they allowed us to store our e bikes

Cons:

The evening meal and experience wasn't pleasant.
The gammon had a taste of beibg burnt , served with a cold tomato and mushroom.
The Salmon was dry and tasteless.
The pastry was hard on the desert, we told the waitress who said she would tell the chef.
Which was the last we heard of it.
Expensive meal and not enjoyable, would not recommend or go back.

A very good start with a very disappointing finish
Pros:

The location was perfect as it was just outside the centre of grasmere and there was plenty of parking for residents when we arrived. Our first room was very comfortable, especially the bed and we were extremely happy until we tried to have a shower and had no hot water. The breakfast options were also really good. The staff were really polite and helpful, doing their best to help, especially with the water situation, but it was disappointing we didn’t get to speak to a manager when we checked out, especially after what had happened.

Cons:

There was no hot water in the suite we paid for (Beatrix) so we had to be moved to a smaller room (Dorothy) which wasn’t anywhere near the same standard. The new room, although prepped, hadn’t been fully cleaned as there were cobwebs all over the ceiling. The plug hole in the shower was also very dirty and blocked and there was mould in the corner of the shower. We were put on the bottom floor, next door to the kitchen and next door to the managers office which was very loud during service until just past 11pm. I understand this move couldn’t be helped in the circumstances but it affected our stay as we booked a much nicer room for a birthday treat.

Lovely stay
Pros:

Comfortable large bed in a nicely appointed room. Lovely garden overlooking the river for a drink. A comfortable bar area. Very good cooked breakfast. Very central for everything in Grasmere. Parking was good.
