Hope to return.
Pros:

Breakfast and location very good.

Cons:

Perhaps have another shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. The shelf provided was only strong enough for very light items.

A Lovely Stay at a Beautiful Hotel with Super Staff
Pros:

The Grasmere Hotel is a beautiful hotel that we stopped by for one night to break up a long day on our Coast to Coast walk.It is situated conveniently close the Coast to Coast Route. My Friend and I had been battered by the weather a bit that day and arrived absolutely soaked through. The lady on Reception was amazing. she checked us in quickly, informing us that our bags were already placed in our room .She took all our wet clothes and boots and put them in the Drying Room for which we were very grateful,Thankyou. We’d booked a twin room and when we entered it was a double room set up but that was cheerfully and efficiently changed. The room was an immaculate ground floor room with a garden view and lovely and warm which was just what we needed after our cold wet day.The Kitchen isn’t open every night for dinner ( check on booking if you require an evening meal ) but there are several dining choices a very short walk into town.
Breakfast was wonderful, cooked selection available with an accompanying cold selection and of course porridge, which I chose and was perfect for the start of a long walk day . We sadly said farewell after only one quick night but will definitely return when in the area. This Hotel is the perfect stop to break the long Day 3 of The Coast to Coast walk between Rosthwaite and Patterdale and I would highly recommend doing that .

Schönes Hotel in einem schönen Ort
Pros:

Tolles Frühstück und sehr freundliches Personal. Gratis Parkplatz.

Cons:

Wir hatten zwar ein Twinzimmer reserviert, aber das Bett und die Decke waren sehr gross. Von daher war alles gut.

Love coming to the Lakes.
Pros:

Beautiful breakfast.

Cons:

Felt a little more like a B and B than a hotel.
Although a bar at the back, limited opening hours and the times it was open it was empty, so lacked atmosphere. Obviously wouldn't want a rowdy bar, but just a few people in would be nice. Also bathroom needs some TLC.

Value for money in an amazing location. I would stay again.
Pros:

Amazing location, comfortable and clean.

Cons:

The full Cumbrian breakfast could have been better. One small Cumberland sausage was not enough.

Average at best.
Pros:

Location good, breakfast good.

Cons:

The evening meal and menu …not very imaginative or tasty…..
Dining room lacked atmosphere and as we had asked to eat a little later than we had booked for were surprised at how few people were actually eating.

New mattress needed
Pros:

Staff were friendly

Cons:

Mattress needed replacing due to the side not against the wall had lost all support making it feel like you were sleeping on a hill and are going to roll out of bed at any time. Reported on first morning of 3 night stay. Nothing done about it

The charming hotel with good food made our Grasmere stay even more enjoyable.
Pros:

The hotel has a good location in the centre of Grasmere, with car parking available. The decor in the hotel and the rooms was very nice; it created a pleasant atmosphere. The hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooms were well stocked with a variety of teas, coffees and biscuits. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was cooked and presented very well, and the smoked, trout bacon, eggs and sausages were high quality, There was also a good choice of cereals, fruit, toast and pastries, The evening meal was cooked well and the portions were good. The price was good for our two single rooms.

Lovely Hotel
Pros:

A very pleasant hotel with friendly atmosphere. Excellent location within Grasmere & parking a real plus. Breakfast was excellent and very generous portions. Welcoming bar area to sit & chill with a drink. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Stayed in the Southey Room as a lone traveller. Room was lovely & well presented.

Cons:

Mattress was too soft & seemed to lean to the left.
Light shining through door frame at night was a little annoying.
