Lovely place and lovely host. It’s a remote island so facilities will have issues like power outage.

Pros:

Nous avons tout aimé! Tommy nous a reçus avec énormément d' attention et nous nous sommes sentis à l' aise tout de suite. Les huttes sont toutes mignonnes et confortables. Même si nous sommes sur une île où il y a peu d' habitants et d' infrastructures, nous avions tout ce qu' il nous fallait. Chaque hutte a plusieurs ventilateurs, les salles de bain extérieures sont pittoresques et nous avons adoré nous doucher sous les étoiles. La mère de Tommy est une excellente cuisinière et les petits déjeuners étaient extra. Il y a la possibilité de louer de beaux vélos directement à l' hébergement. Mention spéciale pour Georgie et ses cours de yoga le matin, sous les arbres. Nous avons pu discuter et échanger de plein de choses avec elle, et avec Tommy, ils ont été d' excellents conseils. Nous y reviendrons les yeux fermés! Nous recommandons sans hésitation.

Our favorite in Sri Lanka
Pros:

Lovely place with a very nice atmosphere.
Simple, quiet and extremely welcoming thanks to Tommy and his mother who is a very good cooker.
The community based environment is also very welcoming for families. Sharing meals, bone fires and games creates such good vibes.

Pros:

4 nuits passées au Village stay et clairement si on n'avait pas planifié d'autres destinations après, on serait restés plus. Tommy a créé une atmosphère propice aux belles rencontres, à la détente et aux découvertes. Tout se fait naturellement.
Les vélos sont à disposition pour découvrir ce pur joyau qu'est l'île de Delft. La plage de fin sable blanc, où nous étions seuls à chaque fois, est seulement à quelques pas. Nos enfants repartent avec de beaux souvenirs de pêche avec les locaux et copains faits au Village Stay.
Personnellement j'ai aimé l'équilibre que j'ai trouvé entre lecture dans les hamacs, excursions et discussions autour des festins que nous cuisinait la maman de Tomm, les jeux, notamment la grande partie de volleyball. J'ai été épatée par l'impression d'être une communauté de voyageurs alors que nous étions tous si impermanents. Bravo à Tommy pour avoir créé cet endroit qui permet de préserver la nature de l'île tout en nous permettant de vivre une expérience inoubliable. Merci à lui pour son accueil si attentionné avant même notre arrivée.

Pros:

Such an awesome place!!!! Perfectly off the beaten path. The hosts were so so lovely. Dinners here were definitely up there with the best meals I ate in Sri Lanka- if not the best. Absolutely recommend if you’re looking for something a little different, with a fab set up for private rooms and places to chill out. I hope I shall be returning!!!!

Sehr coole, entspannte Unterkunft. Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Ich hatte eigentlich ein Dormroom gebucht aber durfte für den gleichen Preis im Zelt schlafen. Coole Erfahrung! Man kann in der Unterkunft Fahrräder leihen und die Insel erkunden. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Chillige Atmosphäre, super nettes Personal, feines Essen. Fahrräder zum Erkunden der Insel können auch gleich dort gemietet werden.

Schade, dass man zum Strand durchs Dorf muss.
Ich hatte die Hütte mit Privatbad, für eine Person alleine recht teuer.

A great friendly and peaceful place to stay on a beautiful island
Pros:

Staying at Delft Village Stay was definitely a great experience. Our host was of great help, we were able to rent bicycles and see the baobab and a beautiful sunset. The dinner was especially delicious.
