What didn’t like:
The hotel insisted on charging €30 a day for an infant (7month old), €150 for the trip. While the hotel has excellent facilities for children (1 year+) it does not cater at all babies. Aside from bottle warmers in the dining areas and the common courtesy of a cot in the room & high chair, there was nothing else. None of the toilets throughout the village had baby changing facilities and of course the food options were not applicable. The premium restaurant was also inaccessible for push chairs (stairs only, no elevator). The additional cost was excessive and in bad faith with that in mind.
What we did like:
Our room was pristine, a decent size and the shower (which is key measure for me in a hotel) was really great. The staff, especially around the dining areas were generally excellent. Friendly and courteous to us with our minimal/bad Italian and amazing with our child. The food was great, probably as good or better than the food we had outside of the resort, especially in the Mirto(?) restaurant. The selection was large, fresh and varied from day to day, better than we initially expected from a half board.
Posizione , staff e pulizia
The room was newly renovated. Shower and bed are comfortable. Staff teams at the breakfast, and the housekeeping team are great.
The reception team, the top-up credit payment system used in the village, and the entertainment programs are all Italian-based. I wouldn’t have booked this place if I knew.
The reception team needs more training. We arrived at 2130. The staff at the front desk was rude, who did not greet us at all, and made me feel like I interrupted at an inconvenient time. The staff mentioned we maybe able to park underneath our room, but didn’t not mention how he or we can check. We later on asked the security, the housekeeping and the reception team but none of them knew (one told us it is impossible, one told us they don’t know). There were a couple dozens of cars parked underneath the building, not sure how did the other guests got the parking sorted out? We had to send an email to the guest relation team and figured that out the next day. It was unacceptable that the reception didn’t have an answer to such a simple question. And shouldn’t the parking be pre-arranged, knowing that most of the guests drive?
The village uses such an inconvenient top-up system. You have to top up to the hotel’s card. All restaurants and the beach club only take payment from the hotel’s card. We didn’t bother eating at the hotel’s restaurants because of the fuss. Access to gym and sun beds are at extra costs. When you check out the remaining balance will be returned in cash.
All entertainment programs and notices about the hours of different facilities and classes were all in Italian. As an English speaker that doesn’t understand Italian I felt a bit excluded.
Many options for breakfast and different every day. The place is amazing, great for families or just friends.
Dinner options are expensive and the VOI Tanka Selected is far from other villages.
The newly selected part of Voi Tanka Village is brilliant!
Everything was spot on, from the stunning surroundings to the impeccable service. The meals at Terrazza Mirto were not only tasty but also beautifully presented, making the dining experience even better.
The only downside is having to pay extra for sun loungers and umbrellas, which really should be included, especially for those staying in the selected rooms. Other than that, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it
