We had an enjoyable stay at Kea Motel
Pros:

The location was just right for us. We needed somewhere to stop overnight to break up a long drive to Auckland, and staying on the main street in Putaruru worked really well. The beds were comfy, and the shower had great water pressure. We also really appreciated the owner’s kindness, after we accidentally left our son’s blanket behind, they got in touch straight away and kept it safe for us to pick up on our way home.

Dirty stains on the couch, as well as potentially blood stains on the blanket? Bugs and generally dirty throughout.

Not very pleasant
Pros:

Good location

Cons:

- bathroom lights were not working
- smell in the room
-bed sheets were dirty, had dust and hair stuck to sheets
- room had a weird smell
-chairs were dirty
-booking advertisement not clear. We had booked a room for one night that had a double bed and two single beds which can easily cater for a couple and two more persons. We got told to pay extra even though the room was set up for four people naturally.

Met our needs
Pros:

The motel was located on our route north and located by the main state highway and easy to access. It was surprising quiet being close to a main road and a practical solution for us. Close to supermarket and restaurants

Cons:

Facilities dated and fittings/ accessories in rooms quite spartan but adequate for a one night stay.

Mobiliar und Ausstattung war sehr heruntergekommen, gefühlt 30 Jahre alt. Herd, Mikrowelle etc. war ‚sehr gebraucht‘. Im Bad der Wasserhahn locker im Waschbecken, die Toilette müsste dringend ausgetauscht werden.

Quiet and great place to stay if you're on a budget.
Pros:

Our room was further from the main road so it was quiet. There are fruit trees on the property and the grounds were tidy. We stopped for one night and it was budget friendly. It's walking distance to Woolworths so easy to grab food instead of takeaways. Water pressure was awesome and didn't take long to heat up.

Cons:

We had a studio, a bit of TLC required as we had ants meet us on the kitchen bench. Easily remedied by using some citrus skin in water to there them.
