Lovely experience, we will visit again.
Pros:

The buildings are beautiful, set in a wonderful location.

Cons:

Our lake view room had 2 single beds pushed together which made for a very uncomfortable sleep. And for the room rate I paid, I expected at least a portable air con unit in the room at least, not just a small fan. The cleaning of the room could have been improved too, we found several spider webs around the curtains.

A beautiful location but the hotel was disappointing
Pros:

Location was excellent.

Cons:

On arrival the receptionist made no eye contact with us and seemed irritated we had arrived an hour before official check in. This set a disappointing tone to our stay. We felt our room was tired, the plumbing was old. All in all we felt we spent a lot of money on a hotel that did not deliver.

Pros:

NULLA

Cons:

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. We were initially given the wrong rooms, which immediately created confusion and inconvenience.
The general level of cleanliness was unacceptable. There were spiders and cobwebs everywhere, while the rooms were damp, dirty and poorly maintained. During a ten-day stay, the bed linen was changed only once, and only after we specifically requested it.
There was no air conditioning despite temperatures reaching 38°C. The only solution provided was a number of old and ineffective fans, which did very little to make the rooms more comfortable.
The food was poor in both quality and variety. The staff were unhelpful, and whenever we raised a concern, the answers we received were vague, unsatisfactory and failed to resolve the issue.
The entire property appears old, neglected and in serious decline. The swimming pool looks more like a puddle than a proper hotel pool, while the grass is overgrown and clearly not regularly cut or maintained.
Overall, the hotel is badly managed, poorly maintained and far below an acceptable standard. The photographs and description do not reflect the reality of the property. We would not recommend this hotel and would certainly not stay here again.

The perfect weekend getaway.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous grounds.
Pros:

Beautiful property in an excellent location. Spacious rooms. Large restaurant. Amazing garden and grounds.

Cons:

On a negative note, we booked the lake view king bedroom. When we arrived we were shown to a ground floor room with no lake view, it did have a garden view but definitely could not see the lake at all from the outside patio. At the price we paid and the description of the room it was very disappointing to be given that room. I went back to reception who changed it for a room on the floor above which did have a lake view. Advice to the hotel, call the other room a garden view room! Also at the buffet breakfast I was advised if I wanted to have a flat white coffee and not the regular coffee served at the buffet that I had to pay £4 per coffee! After paying £700 for a two night stay I found it very poor service and cheap to charge me extra for a decent coffee.
