Pros:

This is my second stay at the Royal Oak. I like the location, the food, staff and rooms are well maintained and comfortable.

Cons:

The carpets throughout the property are dirty and a little smelly. This is the only negative that I have about the property.

Wouldn’t stay there again.
Pros:

Location, the reception when booking in the guy who was on reception was excellent

Cons:

The room was very small and above the kitchen so it was impossible to open a window because of cooking smells and the noise of the kitchen extractor.

What a great location. The hotel was presented well and the room clean and tidy.
Pros:

Location was great and the hotel overall was excellent. The room we had was very close to a fairly busy road, so road noise was an issue. Also unfortunately the walls are pretty thin, so noise from the adjoining room on one night was disturbing. Food was of a good standard and plentiful.

Cons:

The hotel was excellent and the staff very attentive. The room was clean and spacious and well presented.

Lakes hotel to avoid
Pros:

Location.

Cons:

Expensive at £125 per night and NO BREAKFAST.
Room was tiny, no staff in the morning until 12.00.
Refrigeration unit outside our room 9 and on all night. No sleep first night at all and precious little second with no free room to relocate. Owners advised by Manager but ignored vomplaint and no subsequent contact.
