Amazing location overlooking the sea and only a 3 minute tuk tuk from the main stretch or restaurants and cafes. Staff were very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.
.The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful, making for a very welcoming stay. The location is truly breathtaking, complemented by an excellent and diverse food menu. I also thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing spa treatments

The hotel appears nice visually.
I really wanted to like this hotel, but it let itself down by trying to be something it isn't. My honest feeling was that the prices are way too high for what you get. The vibe is more like a fancy hostel, than a boutique hotel. The building isn’t very well built, there is no ventilation to the bathroom, there are visible wires not connected to anything, the shower is nice but the temperature would change randomly. The rooms look nice visually, but the noise travels between rooms and the hallway extremely badly. We also had a guest on the balcony next to us playing loud music until 2am the night prior to our check out, it sounded as though they were in our room and we could hear every word of their conversations in between the music. The fridge in the room was rusty, it looked like it had a leak previously. Other than some water there were no other minifridge items. The hotel staff were pleasant, but felt like there was a lack of experience in hospitality, slow service etc there was also some work going on outside our balcony each day we were there, no one mentioned this to us but we would have to listen to banging and sawing of wood work when on the balcony or sun beds. They also did not have anywhere secure for storage of bags upon check out, they are just behind a desk and nobody checks who you are when taking them. The hotel is very rough around the edges and lacks the details or quality to warrant the price. I also would not trust the tuk tuk drivers outside, after taking us to Ahangama one told us he had no change at all and so would come and pick us up and gave us his number - he ignored our call and messages and was stood outside the hotel when we got back. Whilst the tuk tuk drivers are not employed by the hotel, there is a clear relationship as they have someone sitting in the hotel grounds who calls them over from across the street - be aware in Ahangama they deter Uber and Pickme drivers also.
The location, the rooms with view on the sea
AC broke down 2 times but they changed my room
The location is ideal, especially if you’re keen to explore some of the more popular nearby cafés like Cactus Ahangama and Kai Ahangama both are within easy walking distance, which made getting around really convenient.
The hotel itself has a beautiful beachfront setting, with a lovely on-site restaurant and bar that creates a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. I had dinner there on my first evening and it was a solid start to my stay, good quality food and a great spot to unwind by the ocean.
Breakfast was included, which was a nice bonus. On my first morning, the staff recommended the Alaia breakfast, and it didn’t disappoint, was fresh, well-prepared, and really enjoyable. I ended up ordering the same thing again the next day, which says it all.
The staff throughout my stay were warm, friendly, and always willing to help. A special mention to Anu at checkout, who went above and beyond to assist me in arranging a driver, making my departure smooth and stress-free.
A couple of small things that could be improved. There wasn’t a kettle or tea/coffee facilities in the room (I stayed in room 107), which would have been nice especially as breakfast doesn’t start until 8:30am. It’s possible other rooms may have this, but it’s worth noting.
I also found it a bit tricky to get an Uber from the location, so transport options can require a bit of extra planning.
Luxe en net verblijf.
De weg aan de voorkant is wel gehorig.
Amazing location and amazing staff
Step in the bedroom and no lock in the bathroom.
Perfect Location. Perfect view. Perfect staff. Amazing amenities.
We got upgraded !! 🫶🫶
Although the staff made us absolutely comfortable the only thing missing was more options in their vegan/vegetarian menu at the restaurant.
Great location right on the beach and nice modern rooms. Staff were all really friendly and helpful (Anu particularly was super helpful with organising a birthday surprise).
Rooms were lacking a couple of basic amenities like tea / coffee facilities and an iron which we would expect with it being 5 star. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
Outstanding Location and best resort. Location was so good & breakfast was so fresh and tasty.
Pretty view. Decent location
Probably the most overrated hotel I’ve ever stayed in. While the rooms may look nice, the experience was awful from the moment we checked in. Our room reeked of chemicals to the point where my friend and I struggled to breathe without getting headaches and watery eyes. On top of that, the toilet flush was broken.
I reported this immediately and the staff’s first solution was to move us into a smaller room with no view, essentially a downgrade with no compensation offered. Only after standing my ground were we finally moved into a room larger than our original.
We also had ongoing electrical issues in the room. The lights, TV, and WiFi would randomly turn off, which caused the automatic blinds to move up and down on their own throughout the day and night. This was incredibly disruptive and made it impossible to relax or sleep properly.
In addition, we had ongoing issues with the TV, where another guest repeatedly connected to it while we were watching. When this was raised with staff, we were told there was nothing they could do and that we would simply have to deal with it. One staff member even dismissed the issue by saying it must be a ghost.
The restaurant service is painfully slow. With only two other guests dining, it took over 40 minutes just to receive a piece of toast. Completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the hotel hosted large parties that went past midnight. There was no warning before or during our booking that this would be the case. The rooms are not soundproof at all, making sleep impossible. You can clearly hear outside noise and non-hotel guests throughout the night, and to top it off, crows repeatedly flew into our window from around 6am after seeing their reflection, making proper rest completely impossible.
Outside the hotel, there is a tuk tuk mafia. These men aggressively harass you until you get into their tuk tuk and will not leave you alone unless you do.
amazing location!
reduce the prices of F&B … we would have spent more
First off, the property is gorgeous - so aesthetic and the views are incredible. It was also great to get a free yoga class and 15 min treatment included .
What really let this place down was the service. The lack of communication and the wait times were just not up to par with the cost and look of this hotel which was such a shame. For example, we could only eat in the hotel 1/4 of the nights we stayed (being our first night but we hadn’t realised as so went out instead as had just arrived to Ahangama) this is because the restaurant favoured private events over its own guests. We came down to dinner one night to be told 20 mins before sunset that the restaurant was closed for a private function with 0 prior warning. After sharing my frustration over the lack of communication, they offered to make us a sandwich for dinner an seat us behind the event in the corner… (so no surprise we went out again instead!) on the other two nights they had a sunset rave party which meant normal restaurant service wasn’t running and loud music and outside guests replaced it (again no communication prior to booking or when we arrived of this, we found out via a text on the day). There was also a Jewish celebration another night which again meant no normal dinner service and an event instead. We also had ordered room service on one occasion (two puddings) and waited an hour to receive it. We have stayed in places with far far better service for less of the cost, so we were quite shocked by this.
The location of the hotel also wasn’t great, we assumed we could do a breach walk down into the town but it’s not possible to walk down the beach as it’s not connected so it’s a main street with little pavement and it’s just under 30 mins down to the man restaurants so we found overselves getting a tuk tuk a lot due to the walk not being very nice.
Nevertheless the hotel was truly gorgeous and we did enjoy ourselves despite!
Amazing views
The presidential suite had a very nice view and a balcony but that was about it. Staff at the gate was also friendly and helpful.
Considering the price there were lot of aspects that were sub-par:
1. toilet in the room had a see through glass door - zero privacy
2. room cleaning was bad
3. On Thursday nights hotel has a party that blasts music and lasts until 11.00 pm. We had to wake up for an early morning trip at 6 am and our sleep was affected. The music was so loud that we felt the bass in our third floor room. Very unpleasant.
4. Breakfast was bad and service very unreliable
Great location and nice rooms.
Food portion have become pretty small.
Room next to pools are quite loud.
Space at pool/beach is very limited but they allow outside guests and big families for the whole day but this isn't a family hotel at all.
