Pros:

Je suis très déçue par mon expérience au The Hotel à Ahangama, au Sri Lanka. Pour un établissement qui facture des chambres autour de 300 € la nuit, le niveau de service et la qualité des prestations sont très loin d’être à la hauteur.

Tout d’abord, j’ai rencontré un problème de paiement avec un surplus sur ma note, incluant deux spritz facturés 22 $ qui ne correspondaient pas à ma consommation. Malgré mes explications, je n’ai rencontré aucune compréhension ni véritable aide de la part de l’équipe de direction ou du manager, ce qui est particulièrement frustrant dans un hôtel de cette catégorie.

La chambre est également de qualité médiocre : certaines prises sont démontées, le robinet aussi et le wifi est instable (difficulté à rester connecter)

Le bruit est aussi un vrai problème. Payer près de 300 € la nuit pour entendre constamment le bruit de la route le soir est tout simplement inacceptable pour un hôtel qui se positionne comme haut de gamme.

Le petit-déjeuner est lui aussi très décevant pour le prix payé : il n’y a qu’un choix extrêmement limité avec une seule boisson chaude ou une boisson fraîche et un seul plat. L’omelette était très fine, faite avec un seul œuf, ce qui est vraiment insuffisant pour un établissement de ce standing.

Enfin, l’organisation de l’hôtel est incompréhensible : les clients de l’hôtel ne sont même pas prioritaires pour les transats, car l’établissement vend des day pass à des visiteurs extérieurs, ce qui signifie que les clients qui séjournent sur place peuvent se retrouver sans place.

En résumé, malgré un cadre qui pourrait être agréable, le service, la gestion des problèmes, la qualité des chambres et les prestations proposées ne justifient absolument pas le prix demandé. Une grande déception.

Stylish hotel with a great outdoor setup
Pros:

It’s a very stylish hotel, nice rooms and a beautiful outdoor setting!
The breakfast & lunch/dinner options are very good, too (however, nothing Sri Lankan on the menu). The staff is very nice :)
Main restaurants & bars are a short tuk tuk ride away.

Cons:

The street is very loud, especially in the evening - we were only able to sleep with ear plugs/noice cancelling AirPods

An unforgettable stay with exceptional service and stunning surroundings.
Pros:

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Ahangama. What made it even more special for us is that we actually saw the hotel being built years ago, and this time we finally had the privilege of staying in it—it truly felt like a full-circle moment.

From the very first second, the welcome was exceptional. We were greeted with fresh coconuts as a welcome drink, which instantly set the tone for a relaxed and authentic experience.

We were incredibly lucky during our stay, as upon arrival we were offered an upgrade after two nights (completely optional, which was such a nice touch). For the first two nights, we stayed in a standard room on the second floor, which had breathtaking views and was spotlessly clean—everything felt calm, airy, and beautifully designed.

After that, we moved to the garden suite on the ground floor, and it was just stunning. The room featured a gorgeous bath and a private terrace that opened directly onto the pool area—such a dreamy setup. Both rooms were equally fantastic in their own way, and it was a real treat to experience both.

The staff throughout our stay were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming—nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, with a great variety and fresh flavours.

Honestly, I can’t find a single negative thing to say about this place. It’s rare to feel this completely satisfied after a stay, but this hotel truly exceeded all expectations. We would return in a heartbeat 🤍

Pros:

The views of the sea are beautiful. The property has a nice restaurant. The staff are congenial.

Cons:

The plumbing doesn’t work well in the rooms. There is constant fluctuation between hot and cold water. And inspite of us informing the staff there was nothing they did about it - seemed like they can’t do much. The room has stained upholstery. At this price point one expects more.

.מלון קטן, מעוצב בסגנון בוהו שיק, עדכני חם ונעים, עם הקפדה על פרטים , צוות לבבי, אוכל מצויין, מיטה מאוד נוחה ומעל הכל - נוף ים עוצר נשימה מלא גולשים ועניין.

Cons:

החדר קטן. המגבת ממש תלויה מעל האסלה. מחירי המנות במסעדת המלון מאוד גבוהים. אין בחדר שולחן וכיסא שמאפשרים עבודה על המחשב. אין קומקום תה וקפה. האמת היא שאם הייתי מגיעה למלון בלי להסתובב קודם היה מקבל-10 אבל ביחס לאלטרנטיבות סביב הוא ממש תמורה נמוכה.

Sehr empfehlenswert für Erwachsene und Jugendliche
Pros:

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und die Tage sehr freundlich und angenehm von dem hilfsbereiten Personal umsorgt. Die Rezeption hat uns mit vielen, sehr guten Tipps versorgt und sich um unsere Wünsche gekümmert. Es ist ein modernes Hotel, mit einem wundervollen Blick aufs Meer. Die Außenanlage, Daybeds und Liegen sind herrlich zum Chillen. Über ein paar Stufen gelangt man direkt ins Meer, was sehr sauber und angenehm ist. Wir haben uns extrem wohl gefühlt und die Tage sehr genossen.
